Trump’s Wall Gets FUNDING – Where It Came From Sends Caravan Running In New Direction

One of the things I like most of all about Senator Ted Cruz is that he never ever gives up. A brave group of constitutional Republicans joined forces and introduced a bill to fully fund President Trump’s wall. Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Rounds, Jim Inhofe, and John Kennedy introduced The WALL Act to the Senate. The House and Senate passed legislation Thursday afternoon that will fund the federal government for two weeks in order to avoid a shutdown which was looming.

These senators are not kidding around. This would fund building the wall in its entirety. They are also providing specific sources of funds. Something you never see from the left.

The details are a bit complex, but the legislation would require refundable tax credit beneficiaries provide work-eligible Social Security numbers in order to receive benefits, require welfare applicants prove U.S. citizenship, raise the minimum fine for illegally crossing into the U.S., and enact minimum fines on individuals who overstay their visa. That is an excellent plan of attack here.

From The Daily Caller:

A group of Republican senators introduced legislation Wednesday to fully fund construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

GOP Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Rounds, Jim Inhofe, and John Kennedy introduced The WALL Act into the Senate, which would fund the border wall in full while also providing specific sources of funds.

“I have long called for building a wall as a necessary step in defending our border and stopping the flow of illegal immigration into our country,” Cruz said in a statement. “The overwhelming majority of Texans and Americans want to see the border secured. The WALL Act would fully fund the border wall by closing existing loopholes that provide illegal immigrants with federal benefits and tax credits, without affecting the benefits and tax credits used by Americans.”

“President [Donald] Trump has called for a border wall and I agree,” Inhofe added. “As a former builder and developer in south Texas, I know border security is national security and we need to do more to deter the growing numbers of unauthorized immigrants coming across our borders.”

In order to finance the wall, the legislation would require refundable tax credit beneficiaries provide work-eligible Social Security numbers in order to receive benefits, require welfare applicants prove U.S. citizenship, raise the minimum fine for illegally crossing into the U.S., and enact minimum fines on individuals who overstay their visa.

“If you want to receive food stamps and other benefits, then you should prove your citizenship,” Kennedy stated. “If you cross the border illegally or overstay your visit to this country, then you should pay a stiff penalty.”

“The primary responsibility of the federal government is the defense of our nation, which includes strong border security,” Rounds said. “The WALL Act will provide full funding for construction of a physical barrier along our southern border to protect against illegal immigration and stop those who wish to do us harm, such as terrorists, gang members, and drug dealers, from entering the United States from the south.”

The legislation comes as Congress passed a two-week funding bill to avoid a government shutdown — it will provide both Republicans and Democrats ample time to debate funding for the border wall.

Of course, Kennedy is exactly right on this.

The government got a stay from shutting down for two weeks due to the passing of George H.W. Bush. Two weeks is plenty of time to get the funding for the wall in place and I have faith in these senators that it can and will be done.

The House of Representatives canceled votes right after Bush passed away. Republicans will fight for billions to fund the wall while Democrats don’t want to fund it all for obvious reasons. If Trump’s funding comes through, many illegal aliens will flee the border because they simply can’t get in that way.

Nancy Pelosi really should not talk about morals. Pelosi and the Democrats seem to not know the definition of morality. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the idea of a border wall “immoral, ineffective, and expensive,” in a press conference on Capitol Hill. “And the president, he also promised that Mexico would pay for it,” she added. “Even if they did, it’s immoral still, and they’re not going to pay for it.”

Congress has already passed 75 percent of government funding through September and President Donald Trump signed off on it. So, right now… it appears that the rest of the funding will be secured by Republicans and there is nothing the left can do about it.
