Amidst all the neverending hatred for President Trump on the left and in the media these days, he’s still getting things done. He signed an executive order a couple of days ago that will encourage private investment in low-income neighborhoods. This order puts in place the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson will head the newly formed council. Sounds good to me. The Dems just lost another holy grail – this time impoverished neighborhoods that they never help anyway.
This new council will make sure that taxpayer dollars are being properly invested in those areas where they can make the most difference when it comes to low-income families. Those who need it most. These low-income areas are being called “opportunity zones.” This EO strips away a few layers of bureaucracy and red tape so that every dollar that goes towards improving these areas is maximized and utilized in the most efficient way possible.
It will also provide a tax relief incentive to private businesses who are willing to invest in these opportunity zones. It’s no surprise that the average poverty rate in these areas is twice what it is for the national average. Trump says he hopes the move will help these high-poverty areas feel the economic successes that followed the Tax Cuts and Jobs act. Trump cares about all Americans. You can’t say that for the elitist left.

“This council will coordinate efforts across the entire federal government to deliver jobs, investment, and growth to the communities that need it the most. With the creation of today’s council, the resources of the whole federal government will be leveraged to rebuild low-income and impoverished neighborhoods that have been ignored by Washington in years past. Our goal is to make sure America’s great new prosperity is broadly shared by all our citizens.”
Trump noted that under his presidency, the unemployment rates for African-American workers have been at record lows. He claims these successes are the result of tax reform and his renegotiation of “disastrous” trade deals around the globe.
“No citizen will be forgotten, no community will be ignored, and no American will be left on the sidelines,” Trump said.
The president also thanked Carson and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) for their work on developing this council.
According to the White House, this executive order will benefit opportunity zones that are home to nearly 35 million Americans.
Carson is the perfect man to lead this and these communities desperately need help here with jobs and investment in businesses. They are the common man too and will not be forgotten by the Trump administration. Both Ben Carson and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) are to be commended in this move.

Joe Biden Claims Obama Admin Didn’t ‘Lock People Up in Cages’ – Here Are The Facts
The left continues to spew propaganda. And of course, MSM doesn’t fact-check them.
CLAIM: Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed, on immigration: “We didn’t lock people up in cages.”
VERDICT: FALSE. The “cages” were built by the Obama-Biden administration.
Univision moderator Jorge Ramos asked Biden at the third Democrat debate at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, why Latinos should trust him after the Obama administration continued deporting “undocumented immigrants.”
Biden claimed that the Obama administration’s policies were more humane than those of President Donald Trump: “We didn’t lock people up in cages,” he said.
In fact, the “cages” were built by the Obama administration to deal with a surge of unaccompanied minors who crossed the border illegally in 2014.
Originally, the Obama administration was “warehousing” children — literally — in overwhelmed Border Patrol facilities. Breitbart News broke the story of the surge, which was partly triggered by Obama’s policy of allowing illegal alien children who entered the country as minors to stay in the country (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA).
The above photo was published by the Associated Press in June 2014, and the photo below is of Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, touring a Border Patrol facility with “cages.”

The “cages” are chain-link enclosures in Border Patrol processing facilities that are meant to protect children from adults in custody. They are not permanent accommodations.
In mid-2018, as the Trump administration began enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy that stopped the “catch-and-release” policy of letting illegal aliens go after they were arrested. Detaining adults and children meant that children had to be processed separately; the enclosures prevented adults from harming children.
As Breitbart News reported at the time, children were not housed in “cages.” They were processed and then taken to shelters, where they were given medical care, toiletries, education, recreation, and counseling, and where staff attempted to find relatives or sponsors to whom they could be released.
Democrats began tweeting images of “kids in cages” to condemn the Trump administration. Journalists, too, shared those images.
One problem: they were taken during the Obama administration.
Public outrage at the images led President Trump to end the policy, and require families to be detained together. Continue Reading
