President Trump is threatening a political quid pro quo if the Democrat House decides to harass and persecute him. If I were them I think I would take that to heart – Trump has given the left fair warning here over exposing their dirty little secrets. The Democratic House membership is just chock full of corruption and it would take very little to start exposing a number of them. These people have found nothing on Trump so far, yet the neverending witch hunt goes on and on and on.
I would imagine that if Trump did declassify materials related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of the Russia scandal it would indeed show that there has been a conspiracy linked to the FBI to take his presidency down. We’ve already seen evidence of that. My only wish is that President Trump had gone after the Democrats full-tilt long before this. From the very left-leaning trenches of MSNBC:
The day after the midterm elections, Donald Trump held a press conference in which he expressed some anxiety about congressional investigations from House Democrats. The president threatened to expose “very questionable things” unnamed Dems have done, adding that he wouldn’t work with Congress on substantive issues if he disapproved of lawmakers’ oversight.
Yesterday, in an interview with the New York Post, Trump went a little further.
In a wide-ranging, exclusive interview with The Post, President Trump said Wednesday that if House Democrats launched probes into his administration – which he called “presidential harassment” – they’d pay a heavy price.
“If they go down the presidential harassment track, if they want go and harass the president and the administration, I think that would be the best thing that would happen to me. I’m a counter-puncher and I will hit them so hard they’d never been hit like that,” he said during a 36-minute Oval Office sitdown.
Specifically, the president reportedly raised the prospect with the New York Post of declassifying materials related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of the Russia scandal, which he predicted would expose some kind of conspiracy linking the FBI, the Justice Department, and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.
Democrats, Trump warned, “will see how devastating those pages are.”
He’s evidently not prepared to share this evidence now. Rather, the president wants the incoming Democratic House majority to believe he has leverage: if they investigate him, Trump will offer proof to substantiate his anti-Justice Department conspiracy theories.
If, right about now, you find yourself smirking and struggling to stifle a laugh, rest assured, you’re not alone.
On the surface, it’s hard not to notice that Trump seems awfully concerned about House Democratic scrutiny of his White House. Most modern presidents have had to deal with the opposition party controlling at least part of Congress, but no modern presidents have scrambled to publicly threaten lawmakers not to investigate executive-branch scandals.
I wonder why this is making him so nervous.
There’s also a degree of irony to the circumstances: in the same interview yesterday, Trump railed against “McCarthyism.” It created an unfortunate dynamic: the president simultaneously condemned the tactics of Joseph McCarthy and claimed to have “devastating” secret information that would embarrass his perceived political enemies – which, of course, was a standard McCarthy tactic.
But perhaps most important is the familiarity of the circumstances. Trump claimed to have secret information about Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) that would end his career, but that information didn’t exist. Trump claimed that by declassifying secret intelligence related to the Mueller probe, he could bolster Republican talking points. This tactic has already failed – twice.
It’s against this backdrop that Trump expects everyone to believe that he’s again sitting on secret information that would substantiate one of his favorite conspiracy theories, and he’ll release the “devastating” materials if Congress investigates his scandals. I have a hunch the incoming House Democratic majority isn’t overly concerned.

Bernie Sanders: “There Is No Middle Ground,” ‘We’re Going To Stop Using Gas & Coal’
Gotta love when Millionaire communists lecture you on what you can and can’t do. Good thing he will never be elected President!
Via The Daily Caller:
2020 candidate and self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders said that the United States has to stop using gasoline and coal, and that “there ain’t no middle ground” on the issue.
“It is no secret that we must transition away from fossil fuels, period. End of discussion. There ain’t no middle ground…There is no middle ground,” Sanders said during a speech Thursday in California.
The Independent Vermont senator released a climate plan Thursday modeled after the “Green New Deal” that called for $16 trillion in new spending to fight climate change.
A key part of the plan is “Justice for frontline communities,” which refers to “under-resourced groups, communities of color, Native Americans, people with disabilities, children and the elderly – to recover from, and prepare for, the climate impacts, including through a $40 billion Climate Justice Resiliency Fund.”
Sanders’ plan, which is modeled as a “Green New Deal,” also targets “environmental racism.”
“The Green New Deal must serve to address modern and historical inequities and environmental racism,” it reads.
Sanders has sought to separate himself from the field of other 2020 Democratic contenders by proposing far-left plans on a variety of issues.
On health care, Sanders supports a “Medicare for All” style plan which would eliminate private health insurance plans and give free health care to illegal immigrants. Continue Reading
Bernie Sanders Says His $16-Trillion Green New Deal-Like Plan Will Create 20 Million Jobs
Via Daily Caller:
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders introduced a $16.3-trillion plan similar to the Green New Deal on Thursday, which he says will create 20 million jobs.
The plan aims to make 100% of energy for U.S. electricity and transportation renewable by 2030 and have “complete decarbonization” by 2050, according to its outline.
Bernie Sanders just spoke at a rally in downtown Sacramento. Trump supporters showed up & they didn't attack or beat anyone. They just politely discussed their political beliefs with those in attendance. Wonder if MSM will cover that. @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @Scavino45 pic.twitter.com/e1e8gAbZPW

“As President, Bernie Sanders will boldly embrace the moral imperative of climate change and mobilize the political will necessary for a wholesale transformation of our society, with massive investments in sustainable energy, energy efficiency, and a transformation of our transportation system,” his plan reads.
