Terror-Linked Org Sponsored Tlaib & Omar’s Israel Trip

First, Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota’s trip to Israel was banned by the government there. Then they decided to have pity on Tlaib and let her visit her grandmother. I wrote yesterday that I totally agree with Israel banning these two because of their terroristic and anti-Semitic ties. Tlaib, after making a scene of begging other Democrats to intervene for her, declined going to visit her grandmother today. If she can’t visit her terrorist friends, well then… she just won’t go. Under Israeli law, anyone who supports the boycott of Israel may be banned from the country.

The trip was originally sponsored by a Palestinian-based organization whose members have expressed sympathy for terrorist activities and support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. That trip was meant to bolster the movement and was solely anti-Israel in nature. “The decision has been made, the decision is not to allow them to enter,” Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said to Israel’s Reshet Radio Thursday.

This trip has been in the works since at least December of last year. An invitation was sent to other U.S. lawmakers last year for them to attend. The trip to the West Bank and Jerusalem was intended to last from Aug. 17 to 22, and act as an alternative to the AIPAC-led delegations for lawmakers who are friendlier to Israel.

The Squad members’ trip was sponsored by the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue & Democracy, better known as Miftah. They call themselves peaceful and dedicated to promoting Palestine’s democratic institutions, but Miftah for years has carried notable ties to terrorist sympathizers, has openly accused Israel of atrocities (blood libel), and supports the boycott of Israeli products. By the way, many in Britain and Europe are jumping on that train… again.

From The Daily Caller:

“Hanan Ashrawi, the founder and chair of the Miftah board of directors, brushed off Palestinian terrorist attacks during a January 2017 interview by saying they are “seen by the people as resistance. And you cannot somehow adopt the language of either the international community or the occupier by describing anybody who resists as terrorists.”

“Miftah’s own website describes Wafa Idrees, a female suicide bomber, as one of a few young women who chose to “join the ranks of the resistance movement.” Idrees detonated herself in January 2002, killing an 81-year-old and wounding another 150 Israelis.

“Miftah was forced to retract and apologize in 2013 for an article published on its website that accused the Jewish people of using “the blood of Christians in the Jewish Passover.” The Ramallah-based organization had originally defended the writing but reversed course amid massive outcry.

“The Palestinian group holds membership with the Aman Coalition, which has accused Israel of “stealing,” and having “racist goals,” according to the NGO Monitor. Miftah is also a member of the Palestinian NGO Network, which has refused to add its signature to the anti-terror clause, a condition for U.S. government funding.

“These details were not lost on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“[T]he itinerary of the two Congresswomen reveals that the sole purpose of their visit is to harm Israel and increase incitement against it,” the prime minister wrote in a statement published Thursday. “In addition, the organization that is funding their trip is Miftah, which is an avid supporter of BDS, and among whose members are those who have expressed support for terrorism against Israel.”

“Therefore, the minister of interior has decided not to allow their visit, and I, as prime minister, support his decision,” Netanyahu continued.

“Sponsorship of Omar and Tlaib’s now-botched trip was not the first for Miftah. The organization sponsored a trip for a group of Democratic lawmakers in 2016, where they met with an alleged member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terrorist organization.

“Miftah did not respond to a request for comment regarding this article, nor did spokesmen for Tlaib’s and Omar’s offices.”

This whole trip was meant to demonize Israel. If they had been permitted to go, they would have planned, schemed and propagandized with Israel’s enemies. Since they were banned, they decried how intolerant and evil Israel was. When Israel gave Tlaib limited permission to visit family, she smeared the Israelis and made them wrong by refusing their offer to see her grandmother. Notice how she twisted the outcome to fit her hatred of the Jews no matter what.

From Tlaib: “Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she wants for me. It would kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in–fighting against racism, oppression & injustice.”

And more: “When I won, it gave the Palestinian people hope that someone will finally speak the truth about the inhumane conditions. I can’t allow the State of Israel to take away that light by humiliating me & use my love for my sity to bow down to their oppressive & racist policies.”

Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri tweeted Friday in response to Tlaib’s attack on Israel, writing that “apparently her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother.” Indeed… that is it in a nutshell. Deri explained that the letter Tlaib sent Thursday included a part where she said “it might be my last chance to meet” her grandmother.

“The Israeli government used my love and desire to see my grandmother to silence me and made my ability to do so contingent upon my signing a letter—reflecting just how undemocratic and afraid they are of the truth my trip would reveal about what is happening in the State of Israel and to Palestinians living under occupation with United States support,” Tlaib said in a statement, according to NBC News.

Israel should never have even bothered offering Tlaib passage to see her grandmother. Tlaib and Omar both support Islamic extremists and both have a deep-seated hatred of Israel and her people. They were right to label them as enemies and so was President Trump.

Former Miss Iraq, Sarah Idan, who has a running feud with Ilhan Omar over her sympathy towards anti-Israeli terrorist organizations, weighed in during a Fox News interview. Idan was forced to flee Iraq after she posted an Instagram photo with Miss Israel in 2017.
