“President Trump and the First Lady traveled to Iraq late on Christmas night to visit with our troops and Senior Military leadership to thank them for their service, their success, and their sacrifice and to wish them a Merry Christmas.”

“Powerful moment – Member of United States Army told the President he came back into the military because of him. And President Trump responded, “And I am here because of you.” I met him after and he gave me the patch from his arm. Incredible. ”

Approximately 5,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in Iraq, where the mission continues to be promoting stability by supporting the Iraqi government in its fight against lingering ISIS forces in the region.

Hundreds of U.S. troops cheered. The first lady took to the microphone and Christmas and new year greetings to the troops and their families.

Here are some of the amazing photos taken from the surprise trip.

Isn’t it refreshing? After a horrendous 8 years of Barack Obama, we finally have a President that truly cares for our American heroes.

Here’s more on President Trump’s surprise visit to Iraq via The Week:

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania on Wednesday night made a surprise visit to Iraq to greet American soldiers stationed in the country.

“I want to come and pay my respects most importantly to the great soldiers, great troopers we have here,” Trump told a pool of reporters traveling with him. He stayed in the country for a few hours.

After arriving at a dining facility at the base, Trump and Melania made their way through the crowd for about 15 minutes. Trump stopped to talk and signed several red ‘Make America Great Again’ hats service members had brought. At one point he signed an embroidered patch that read ‘TRUMP 2020’.

One man with the name SINGER on his uniform shook Trump’s hand. Trump turned to the reporters: “He came back into the military because of me,” Trump said. Turning to the man, Trump added: “And I am here because of you”.

Trump told reporters that he was pleased about his meeting with military leaders. He said they have a “great plan. You’ll see. I wish I could tell you”.

At one point, Trump stopped to talk football with a soldier named John Rader with the 201st Regional Support Group based in Atlanta, Georgia. Trump talked for a while about the Falcon’s football losses in recent years.

Trump also paused to take photos and selfies with many service members. At one point Kyu Lee told that Trump he was the chaplain for Seal Team Five. Lee recalled Trump telling him: “Hey, in that case, let’s take a picture”.

The hall was decorated for Christmas with bells, foil balls, twinkling red green, and blue colored lights, the tables were covered in red and green tablecloths. There were snowmen made of stacked tires painted white and Christmas trees fashioned from cut two by fours.

Bernie Sanders: “There Is No Middle Ground,” ‘We’re Going To Stop Using Gas & Coal’

Gotta love when Millionaire communists lecture you on what you can and can’t do. Good thing he will never be elected President!

Via The Daily Caller:

2020 candidate and self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders said that the United States has to stop using gasoline and coal, and that “there ain’t no middle ground” on the issue.

“It is no secret that we must transition away from fossil fuels, period. End of discussion. There ain’t no middle ground…There is no middle ground,” Sanders said during a speech Thursday in California.

The Independent Vermont senator released a climate plan Thursday modeled after the “Green New Deal” that called for $16 trillion in new spending to fight climate change.

A key part of the plan is “Justice for frontline communities,” which refers to “under-resourced groups, communities of color, Native Americans, people with disabilities, children and the elderly – to recover from, and prepare for, the climate impacts, including through a $40 billion Climate Justice Resiliency Fund.”

Sanders’ plan, which is modeled as a “Green New Deal,” also targets “environmental racism.”

“The Green New Deal must serve to address modern and historical inequities and environmental racism,” it reads.

Sanders has sought to separate himself from the field of other 2020 Democratic contenders by proposing far-left plans on a variety of issues.

On health care, Sanders supports a “Medicare for All” style plan which would eliminate private health insurance plans and give free health care to illegal immigrants. Continue Reading

Bernie Sanders Says His $16-Trillion Green New Deal-Like Plan Will Create 20 Million Jobs

Via Daily Caller:

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders introduced a $16.3-trillion plan similar to the Green New Deal on Thursday, which he says will create 20 million jobs.

The plan aims to make 100% of energy for U.S. electricity and transportation renewable by 2030 and have “complete decarbonization” by 2050, according to its outline.

“As President, Bernie Sanders will boldly embrace the moral imperative of climate change and mobilize the political will necessary for a wholesale transformation of our society, with massive investments in sustainable energy, energy efficiency, and a transformation of our transportation system,” his plan reads.
