Melania Trump made history earlier this week by becoming the first First Lady to fly in a V-22 Osprey aircraft. The first lady then landed on the deck of an aircraft carrier where she thanked members of the military for their service & sacrifice.
“We are off to visit some of our brave men & women in uniform today & thank them for their service,” the first lady tweeted. “I’ll be visiting Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Joint Base Langley-Eustis & the #USSGeorgeHWBush aircraft carrier today. Looking forward to meeting everyone! #USA”

The next day, Melania would visit a Washington children’s hospital. She spent time in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s National Health System where she met with families and children who are being treated there. Melania read the children’s Christmas book, “Oliver the Ornament,” to the kids there.
“#MerryChristmas to all the patients at @Childrenshealth! Thank you to all the nurses, doctors & medical staffers who work around the clock to take care of people this holiday season.”

“Early in her visit, Mrs. Trump spent time with several families whose children had been born prematurely and cared for in Children’s neonatal unit. Mother Nikki Watkinson explained that she gave birth in her husband’s truck during a snowstorm, and a snowplow had to guide a path to the hospital for her and the newborn to make it to the hospital afterward. “Our miracle baby,” she called her son Grayson, who was born at 24 weeks. She held the now 16-month old on her lap as she spoke with Trump. The first lady replied, “You have an incredible story to tell.”
Dressed in a red and white Martin Grant coat, white dress, and Manolo Blahnik heels, she greeted the parents and children. She asked the children how they were doing and if they had wishes for Santa. Little Abigail said she wanted a dog, and when the first lady asked what name she would call this addition to the family, Abigail replied, “Peppermint”
Downstairs in the hospital atrium, Mrs. Trump continued her visit, walking in with child patients Nathan Simm and Tearrianna Cooke-Starkey. She read the story Oliver the Ornament to the young patients ranging from toddler to pre-teen, flanked by copies of the book, which centered around a theme of kindness that fit well into her Be Best policy platform. The book’s author, Todd Zimmermann, joined Trump, the two kids, and Santa on stage for the reading. Zimmerman said, “I’d also like to thank you for everything you do to promote kindness as part of your Be Best campaign”
In an apparent attempt to upstage Melania, Michelle Obama, the former first lady who wasn’t proud of America until her husband was elected, headed to a children’s hospital in Colorado on the very same day. Michelle read “The Night Before Christmas” to the kids. Apparently, that wasn’t enough, though. Michelle Obama broke out into some kind of weird dance.

Michelle was apparently shown the dance by one of the children. The dance, named “orange justice,” was made popular by the Fortnite video game. Some experts are warning that kids are becoming addicted to the game & some require rehab.
Melania’s visit to the children’s hospital was quite different. She displayed class & grace.
Michelle has said that she doesn’t like politics & doesn’t miss the limelight of her former life, but it sure doesn’t seem to be the message she’s sending when she visits a hospital the same day as Melania. Even the media picked up on it.
The Daily Mail reported:
“Michelle Obama won the heart of the crowd, overshadowing First Lady Melania Trump’s public appearance earlier in the day where she read to kids at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C..
The First Lady read Oliver the Ornament to about two dozen children spending their holiday in the hospital where she sat next to Santa Claus.
Melania made her rounds dressed in a festive red and white coat with red and white candy cane pattern stilettos.”
What’s funny is, a few days prior to all of this, Barack Obama posted a video to Twitter asking people to sign up for Obamacare. Kind of seems like Barack & Michelle still want to be in charge & for everyone to fawn over them.
Whatever, though. Melania doesn’t need to “dance” to impress us. She was clearly classier & unlike Michelle, she has never said she’s not proud of her country.
We’ll take Melania over Michelle any day!
