Los Angeles Outbreak: Deadly Flea Feces-Borne Typhus, Rats In City Hall

Published

on

Los Angeles is in the throes of a spreading outbreak of a “middle ages” and “pioneer days” disease called Typhus. It’s a disease of the third world where city services have broken down and trash pickup becomes a luxury. It’s spread by fleas, usually among the homeless which the City of Angels has plenty of these days thanks to their liberal leadership. That and illegal immigrants who bring Typhus free of charge from Mexico and then spread it around like candy on Valentine’s Day.

This outbreak started back last October and there have been 57 cases of the flea feces-borne disease in downtown Los Angeles, including City Hall. It’s up from six cases last summer and those were only found among the homeless. Los Angeles has a real problem between this and diseases being spread by those living on the streets and defecating there.

The fleas like rats too which there are plenty of in LA. Fleas carrying the infection can live on cats, rats or opossums, however, the animals themselves do not suffer symptoms. It’s reminiscent of the Black Plague. According to LA public health officials, there were more than 120 reported cases of typhus in 2018, and that number is increasing steadily in the first months of 2019. It will spread exponentially and is another excellent reason not to visit Los Angeles these days.

Evidently, the progressive leaders of Los Angeles figured the disease would stay among the unwashed homeless masses. Wrong. It jumped and now all of them are susceptible. City officials are now coming down with the disease much to their horror. “It felt like somebody was driving railroad stakes through my eyes and out the back of my neck,” Deputy City Attorney Liz Greenwood told Local 4 news. “Who gets typhus? It’s a medieval disease that’s caused by trash.” And you have plenty of that in LA.

Did I mention you can die from this? Greenwood thinks she got it from fleas riding on the rats that occasionally infest Los Angeles city buildings. Those fleas get their typhus from piles of garbage surrounding homeless encampments throughout the city and then spread the wealth so-to-speak. “There are rats in City Hall and City Hall East,” Greenwood told NBC. “There are enormous rats and their tails are as long as their bodies.” LA is giving New York a run for their socialist money.

From The Daily Wire:

“Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who recently announced he would not pursue a presidential campaign in 2020, has been trying to control the typhus epidemic largely by allocating funds for trash cleanup, particularly in areas where homeless people gather to live for extended periods of time, including the city’s famous Skid Row.

“Last fall we directed multiple City departments to begin a coordinated and comprehensive effort to improve cleanliness and protect public health in the Civic Center, including City Hall and City Hall East,” a spokeswoman for the city of Los Angeles told local media.

“In addition to increased trash collection and cleanings, aggressive action has been taken to address pests both in the buildings and in the surrounding outside areas — including abatement treatments and the filling of 60 rodent burrows and 114 tree wells. This work in busy and highly populated public buildings is executed carefully to protect workers and visitors, and the scheduling of extermination activities takes these factors into consideration,” she added.

“But it isn’t enough. Local media has continued to photograph piles of trash on Los Angeles city sidewalks, and as quickly as the trash can be collected, it reappears.

“The root problem is something Los Angeles has been struggling to control for more than half a decade: rampant homelessness, driven by L.A.’s rising cost of living and the L.A. City Council’s “progressive” approach to combatting the increasing number of people sleeping rough, the L.A. Times reports. The city has been evicting and repossessing rundown properties to help expand housing opportunities for the middle class and, at the same time, urging police to resist breaking up homeless camps.

“More than 55,000 people now live on the streets in Los Angeles, up a shocking 75% since Garcetti took office in 2013. Another 55,000 homeless people live in communities surrounding Los Angeles, like Pasadena, Long Beach, and Glendale.

“During an October [2017] hygiene survey,” the L.A. Times says, “county public health officials identified 222 encampments, including 50 with 30 or more people living in them. These ragtag outposts have altered the basic terms of urban life.”

“Those encampments appear to be where typhus and other communicable diseases thrive: “People in Koreatown step outside their fancy condos to find tents, rotting food and human feces at their doorsteps. Buses and trains have become de facto shelters, and thousands of people sleep in fear and degradation.”

“Los Angeles says it plans on moving those populations into long-term shelters, but, shockingly, they need more money. Until then, residents are being told to watch their pets closely for fleas, and to have their homes fumigated if they believe they have a flea infestation.”

The infection cannot be transmitted from person-to-person and is treatable with antibiotics. There is no vaccine in the US. Up to four percent of people worldwide who are untreated die, the CDPH claims.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles and the rest of California’s leaders will try to fix things by raising ever more taxes until they run out of other people’s money. They just don’t get it that it’s their liberal policies boosting the homeless problem and therefore the spreading of disease. Did I mention liberalism is deadly?

Kamala Just Made Shocking Sudden Border Announcement – Beto & Gillibrand Panicking

Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris refuted two of her potential 2020 presidential primary challengers on Wednesday when she stated that she does not agree with their acceptance of open borders.

“No, I believe that we need border security,” Harris told “The Daily Show’s” Trevor Noah when asked how she felt about former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s call to remove the already standing wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“We need smart border security. We can’t have open borders, we need to have border security, all nations do,” she continued. “All nations define their borders, but we should not have a policy and perspective that is grounded in keeping people out for the sake of this nationalistic kind of thing this president is trying to push.”

WATCH:

O’Rourke has long argued against a border wall, despite still claiming to be against open borders. Following President Donald Trump’s executive order in September to erect an 18-foot steel bollard wall to replace the existing pedestrian fencing in El Paso, Texas, the Democrat called the existing chain-link fence “bad enough.”

The failed senatorial candidate later revealed to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that if he could snap his fingers and make his hometown of El Paso’s border wall disappear, he “absolutely” would. O’Rourke insisted in the past that the way to improve border safety and security is to “ensure that we are maximizing the potential from everyone … [and] treating each other with respect and dignity” and referred to Trump’s wall as an “expression of our smallness, our meanness, our fear to the rest of the world.”

Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who launched a presidential exploratory committee in January, signaled her support for tearing down the existing barrier on the border when she was confronted with O’Rourke’s position.

“Well, I’d have to ask folks in that part of the of the country to see whether the fencing that exists today is helpful or unhelpful,” Gillibrand replied in February when asked about O’Rourke’s comments. “But, you know, Democrats are not afraid of national security or border security.”

“And [the wall] is a hateful message. I mean [Trump’s] trying to create a picture of division and hate and derision. And that’s what I’m so offended by — the fact that he’s fused this kind of racism in, ‎in his words and actions is just troubling,” she continued. “So, I could look at it and see which part he means and why and if it makes sense I could support it.”

Neither Gillibrand nor O’Rourke have officially entered the 2020 presidential race.
