Our First Lady Melania Trump made one little girl’s wish come true on Tuesday. The toy drive, which is hosted by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, is often attended by the first lady. After she delivered a few remarks to all of the families who attended the event, Melania brought nearly 100 children to a huge table that was packed full of toys for those in need.

The Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson, who attended the annual Toys for Tots drive at Joint Base Anacostia-Bollin, detailed a beautiful moment that took place at the event.

With hundreds of kids and parents all over the place, the event was busy and chaotic for one little girl. First Lady came to the rescue. Benny Johnson reports 7-year-old Jackie Rodriguez appeared confused and upset about what was going on.

Johnson reports that 7-year-old Jackie Rodriguez caught the attention of Melania when she appeared confused and upset about what was going on. First Lady Melania not only talked to the little girl, she helped her sort the toys and led her to the table where the kids were writing Christmas cards. Melania spent over 20 minutes helping Rodriguez color her card, sharing tips and notes with her.

The girl’s mother who had tears in her eyes after seeing her daughter with the first Lady said: “She has been waiting for this day. She has been talking non-stop about meeting Mrs. Trump. This is her Christmas dream come true.”

Nancy Rodriguez’s husband serves in the military. He told Johnson that he “was stunned and amazed watching the unexpected attention” the first lady gave to his daughter. A crying Jackie, clutching a drawing and wiping tears from her eyes. “She’s crying because the Mrs. Trump is gone,” Nancy explained. Nancy asked Jackie to show her treasured drawing she was holding tight. She noted that as a parting gift, The First Lady Melania had given her daughter the drawing she had made.

That’s not all that Melania gave. According to the Office of the First Lady:

“The First Lady will be gifting 100 books to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program. Since starting in 2008, the program has distributed over 39 million books to less fortunate children, helping to reduce the illiteracy rate among children.

Mrs. Trump will also be giving Be Best totes filled with a coloring book and White House candies to all the children that will be helping out at the drive.”
