Liberal Professor Blindsided by Swift Justice After She Attacked Republican Senators

Universities are getting more and more toxic. It’s been that way since I went to college. Professors, for the most part, seem to be overwhelmingly of a liberal bent these days. Many are radicalized and some tend towards violence. Once in a while, they get snagged for it.

Georgetown Professor Christine Fair got herself suspended from Twitter last week because she tweeted that GOP senators deserve “slow miserable deaths” and their corpses castrated. Color me surprised that Twitter did that. Miracles never cease. That’s the swiftest justice from Twitter that I have seen and it totally blindsided Fair.

“Look at [this] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement,” Fair wrote in the tweet that led to her account’s suspension. “All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.” Gee, tell us how you really feel and don’t hold back or nothing.

Fair was even arrogant enough to comment to Fox News that her words were chosen to make her audience uncomfortable. Well, she certainly did that in spades. She also proclaimed that her tweet was “private speech,” meaning that it would be inappropriate for her employer to punish her for it.

Fair’s Georgetown bio states, “Christine Fair is a Provost’s Distinguished Associate Professor in the Security Studies Program within Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.” She obviously feels she can spout off death threats or violence and not be held accountable for it. She thought wrong at least when it comes to Twitter. Georgetown however…

From Breitbart:

“Unfortunately, universities have punished students over private speech in the past. Take for example an incident involving the Harvard male soccer team. In 2016, Harvard canceled the men’s soccer season after it was revealed that members of the team had privately commented on the appearance of members of the women’s soccer team. Apparently, in our modern world, it is far more egregious to talk about the attractiveness of your peers on a campus than it is to call for the brutal death of public officials because they are “entitled white men.”

“In a comment, a Georgetown spokesperson confirmed exactly that. Georgetown will not punish the private speech of Professor Fair, regardless of how objectionable it might be.

“Our policy does not prohibit speech based on the person presenting ideas or the content of those ideas, even when those ideas may be difficult, controversial or objectionable,” the statement read. “While faculty members may exercise freedom of speech, we expect that their classrooms and interaction with students be free of bias and geared toward thoughtful, respectful dialogue.”

“Glenn Greenwald of the Intercept commented on the suspension in a series of tweets:

“Greenwald points out in his thread that advocates of censorship are inevitably surprised when the very rules they created and supported are used against them. This applies to university professors as much as online social justice warriors.

Fair may have to answer for her words after all. She is no longer teaching classes at Georgetown University following calls for the outspoken liberal educator to be fired it would seem. She’s on leave. A Georgetown spokesperson told Fox News that she is no longer teaching students, but will be traveling internationally for university research.

From Fox News:

“Joel Hellman, dean of the School of Foreign Services (SFS) where Fair is a distinguished associate professor, made the statement Friday afternoon pointing to the importance of a bias-free classroom where students can learn.

“To prevent further disruption to her students and out of an abundance of caution for the security of our community, we have mutually agreed for Professor Fair to go on research leave effective immediately,” Hellman wrote in a statement to the SFS community. “Professor Fair will accelerate previously scheduled international research travel.”

“While the university had previously supported Fair and said her comments were made in a private capacity, Hellman noted the legitimate concerns of the Georgetown community

“We can and do strongly condemn the use of violent imagery, profanity, and insensitive labeling of individuals based on gender, ethnicity or political affiliation in any form of discourse,” Hellman said.”

Fair wrote on Twitter that she does not and never has condoned violence. Right. Her words say otherwise. “My tweet, as I have explained, was an attempt to make YOU as UNCOMFORTABLE as I am using the language of the abuse I receive by the hundreds,” she said. I’ve heard that justification somewhere before.

Just days before all this, Fair went on a Twitter tirade against Kavanaugh, calling him a “rapist” and “perjurer.” She described the GOP as a “f—ing death cult” and “filthy swine.” Gee, she sounds like a lovely person… not. Just the kind of professor you want teaching your kids. Hopefully, she’s gone for good and not just on leave.
