Leftists are up in arms over Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz stating that he is “seriously considering” a run for president as an Independent in 2020. I figured long ago that he would run and he said as much in an interview with “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday night. The left did not receive the news well and are threatening to boycott their beloved coffee chain until Schultz comes to his senses and doesn’t run.
Many Democrats believe that if an Independent like Schultz runs it will simply take away potential votes from the eventual Democratic nominee. And they are desperate to unseat President Trump, to say the least. None of that will matter, they won’t beat Trump but leftist desperation reigns eternal these days.
I love our country, and I am seriously considering running for president as a centrist independent.

Neera Tanden, the president of the left-wing Center for American Progress, claims she will start a boycott against Starbucks because Schultz’s run “will help Trump win.” She does have a point although as I said, it really doesn’t matter. “Vanity projects that help destroy democracy are disgusting. If he enters the race, I will start a Starbucks boycott because I’m not giving a penny that will end up in the election coffers of a guy who will help Trump win,” Tanden tweeted. One wonders how she figures more choices would destroy democracy. The exact opposite is true but she is after all a leftist.
Ian Millhiser, another leftist at ThinkProgress, is also calling on MoveOn, the Democratic National Committee, unions, and other Democrat campaigns to boycott Starbucks to force Schultz to drop his bid for the presidency. “If Howard Schultz gets into the presidential race, @MoveOn, @IndivisibleTeam, the @DNC, the major unions, and the major presidential campaigns should all use their email lists to promote a Starbucks boycott until he drops out,” Millhiser tweeted. He’s tilting at windmills.

One commentator named Carol Roth made the point that Millhiser and others are essentially calling on people to “impair the livelihood of myriad workers to bully someone out of running for office.” That’s actually a good point.
David Klion drank the Koolaid and says that Schultz’s run “legitimately would justify a Starbucks boycott,” and suggested that “even a minimally effective one would probably get him to back down.” I highly doubt that but you keep dreaming! It’s hard to tell what Schultz would do, but he so full of himself he might double down. Trump may be right though… he may not have the guts to run.
Julián Castro, a former Housing and Urban Development secretary under President Barack Obama and a contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, urged the former Starbucks CEO not to run.
“I have a concern that if he did run, that, essentially, it would provide [President] Donald Trump with his best hope of getting re-elected,” Castro said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Spoken like a true Marxist who wants the gold ring for himself.
So, impair the livelihood of myriad workers to bully someone out of running for office… https://t.co/N9pcrZKe1j

From NBC News:
“In a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, Schultz, who is worth $3.3 billion according to Forbes, said he would seek the presidency as a “centrist independent.”
“We’re living at a most-fragile time, not only the fact that this president is not qualified to be the president, but the fact that both parties are consistently not doing what’s necessary on behalf of the American people and are engaged, every single day, in revenge politics,” he told CBS’s Scott Pelley.
“Trump tweeted Monday morning that Schultz didn’t have the “guts” to challenge him for the presidency.
Howard Schultz doesn’t have the “guts” to run for President! Watched him on @60Minutes last night and I agree with him that he is not the “smartest person.” Besides, America already has that! I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!

“Schultz said he would run as an independent instead of as a Democrat because “we see extremes on both sides.” Asked if he was concerned about siphoning votes away from Democrats and assisting Trump in getting re-elected, Schultz said he wants to “see the American people win.”
“I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Republican,” he said. “Bring me your ideas. And I will be an independent person, who will embrace those ideas. Because I am not, in any way, in bed with a party.”
“Schultz bashed Medicare-for-all, a major policy being embraced by Democrats at the moment. Schultz said the proposal is “as false as the wall.”
“In an interview with The New York Times, Schultz said he planned to tour the country for the next three months before deciding whether to ultimately run.”
This legitimately would justify a Starbucks boycott, and even a minimally effective one would probably get him to back down https://t.co/bHOavf9zWu

Even the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake asked if there was “going to be a Starbucks boycott.” It’s not clear whether he was supporting one or not though. This doesn’t include rank and file Democrats who are also calling for a boycott of Starbucks over Schultz’s potential run. It isn’t the first time the coffee chain has been subject to a boycott and it certainly won’t be the last.
You would be hard-pressed to find an establishment more progressive than Starbucks out there. They are big into social justice, diversity and inclusivity. So this whole thing seems more than a little amusing. I rather enjoy watching the left attack itself. In fact, I like it much better than coffee at Starbucks.
There is going to be a Starbucks boycott isn't there?

Bernie Sanders: “There Is No Middle Ground,” ‘We’re Going To Stop Using Gas & Coal’
Gotta love when Millionaire communists lecture you on what you can and can’t do. Good thing he will never be elected President!
Via The Daily Caller:
2020 candidate and self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders said that the United States has to stop using gasoline and coal, and that “there ain’t no middle ground” on the issue.
“It is no secret that we must transition away from fossil fuels, period. End of discussion. There ain’t no middle ground…There is no middle ground,” Sanders said during a speech Thursday in California.
The Independent Vermont senator released a climate plan Thursday modeled after the “Green New Deal” that called for $16 trillion in new spending to fight climate change.
A key part of the plan is “Justice for frontline communities,” which refers to “under-resourced groups, communities of color, Native Americans, people with disabilities, children and the elderly – to recover from, and prepare for, the climate impacts, including through a $40 billion Climate Justice Resiliency Fund.”
Sanders’ plan, which is modeled as a “Green New Deal,” also targets “environmental racism.”
“The Green New Deal must serve to address modern and historical inequities and environmental racism,” it reads.
Sanders has sought to separate himself from the field of other 2020 Democratic contenders by proposing far-left plans on a variety of issues.
On health care, Sanders supports a “Medicare for All” style plan which would eliminate private health insurance plans and give free health care to illegal immigrants. Continue Reading
Bernie Sanders Says His $16-Trillion Green New Deal-Like Plan Will Create 20 Million Jobs
Via Daily Caller:
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders introduced a $16.3-trillion plan similar to the Green New Deal on Thursday, which he says will create 20 million jobs.
The plan aims to make 100% of energy for U.S. electricity and transportation renewable by 2030 and have “complete decarbonization” by 2050, according to its outline.
Bernie Sanders just spoke at a rally in downtown Sacramento. Trump supporters showed up & they didn't attack or beat anyone. They just politely discussed their political beliefs with those in attendance. Wonder if MSM will cover that. @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @Scavino45 pic.twitter.com/e1e8gAbZPW

“As President, Bernie Sanders will boldly embrace the moral imperative of climate change and mobilize the political will necessary for a wholesale transformation of our society, with massive investments in sustainable energy, energy efficiency, and a transformation of our transportation system,” his plan reads. Dem Rep Says We Need Illegal Immigrants To Mow ‘Our Beautiful Lawns’ – WATCH
That is some serious white supremacy right there. The Democrats racist colors always show. They can’t hide that for long…and they sure make it clear on how they love slaves.
It isn’t conservatives that are racist…it’s the Democrat party!
Via The Daily Wire:
Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) explained to his constituents earlier in the week that illegal immigrants are necessary members of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District because they are willing to take on the jobs that the community’s teenagers will no longer do.
“We have to think about the jobs because the reason this happens is because there are a lot of jobs in our community that, like it or not, for better or worse, Americans are not willing to take,” Malinowski told the crowd while appearing at a town hall meeting.
“I mean, who do you think is taking care of our seniors? Fifty percent of the eldercare workers in the state of New Jersey are immigrants, most of them legal — most of them documented — but certainly some of them are not,” he continued. “Who do you think is mowing our beautiful lawns in Somerset County? We don’t usually ask but a lot of those workers are undocumented.”
Malinowski contended that the illegal immigrants residing in the area are able to fill the gap as teenagers who historically have been working menial jobs are now focused more on a white collar education in the technology sector.
“There just aren’t a lot of kids who — sorry — are from Montgomery High [School], who are going to be doing that full time,” the Democratic lawmaker said. “You guys are going into robotics, for goodness sake.”
Malinowski’s controversial comments come as he prepares to seek a second term in the congressional swing district. The freshman congressman, who previously served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor under former President Barack Obama, successfully flipped his red district blue during the 2018 midterm elections after he edged out longtime incumbent Rep. Leonard Lance (R-NJ).
Four of New Jersey’s twelve House districts were won by Democrats after decades of being reliably red, including Malinowski’s newly acquired seat. Continue Reading
