Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) wants answers concerning the Democrats’ mysterious trips to Mexico. That would include details concerning alleged “coaching” of migrants to exploit United States immigration law according to a letter from Jordan. If true, not only is it unethical, it’s illegal and sounds just like something the Democrats would not only condone but do.
The letter was addressed to Committee Chairman Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). I have long thought that Cummings is one of the most corrupt and disingenuous members of Congress. The letter inquires about “at least two committee staff trips into Mexico in August — one of which required Border Patrol agents to provide a special escort back into the U.S.” These trips were conducted without informing Republicans of them.
From The Daily Wire:
“Although you have the authority to direct Committee staff to travel internationally on official committee business, you have not explained why you authorized this travel into Mexico or what you sought to learn through these trips,” the Ohio Republican wrote.
“Democrats are seeking “to delegitimize the administration’s border security efforts and vilify the men and women who protect our border,” Jordan accused, noting that the trips “could continue to result in misleading information about the administration’s border security efforts.”
“The letter specifically asks about Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) and alleged “coaching” of migrants. According to a report from The Washington Examiner in July, Escobar was “sending staff to Mexico’s northern border town of Ciudad Juárez to find migrants returned from El Paso, Texas, under the ‘remain in Mexico’ policy, then coaching them to pretend they cannot speak Spanish to exploit a loophole letting them return to the U.S.”
“What we believe is happening is Veronica Escobar’s office is going … to basically second-guess and obstruct work already done by the Border Patrol,” one senior union official source told the Examiner.
“As noted by Fox, Escobar was in attendance during one of the secretive trips on August 21.
“Three days after the report was published, Escobar called the piece a “fabricated” “hit piece” that is “fueled by xenophobia and misinformation.”
“The [Washington Examiner] has published a fabricated story resulting in death threats against me and my staff,” she claimed via Twitter on July 8. “This hit piece is fueled by xenophobia and misinformation. But guess what guys? These attacks won’t deter me doing my job, upholding my oath, and pushing for accountability.”
“Jordan asked Democrats about the purpose of the visit, “which individuals and groups they interacted with, why Escobar’s office was invited, and what ‘coaching’ on immigration laws, if any, was given to migrants,” Fox said of the letter.
“At the end of last month, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) barred Democratic staff from visiting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities, reported Fox. According to the DHS, Democrats were “rude” to officers, missed scheduled facility meetings, and stayed longer in areas than permitted.
“Due to the operational burden placed on the field by their refusal to comply with instruction during last week’s STAFFDEL [staff delegation visit], CBP pulled the trip in which more site visits were to take place at CBP and ICE facilities this week,” a senior DHS official told the outlet via email. “DHS communicated to the committee that due to their conduct, CBP could not support visits from the committee this week.”
“Cummings claimed the action from Homeland Security was retaliatory against Democrats for allegedly “reveal[ing] potentially serious ongoing problems with the treatment of children and adults in DHS custody,” a letter from the committee chairman said.”
The @dcexaminer has published a fabricated story resulting in death threats against me and my staff.

That is not true and Cummings knows it but I would expect nothing less from him. I have no doubt that Escobar did exactly what she is being accused of. We all know it and her protestations are nothing but false political fodder.
As the whole border issue has unfolded over the last few years, it is clear that the depth of manipulation and corruption on the left is staggering. They are desperate to achieve open borders and to forever change the voting demographics here in the United States. Jim Jordan has been fighting for answers on this since the very beginning. The guy has a set and he’s a political pit bull. Definite respect there. #WeBuildTheWall

VIDEO: Rashida Tlaib: Dems Discussing Arresting Trump Officials
It’s crystal clear..that the left should never ever be allowed into our government. These are dangerous folks.
Maybe Rashida should be arrested for her connections to Islamic terrorists. The fact that this woman is in our government…is despicable!
Via The Daily Wire:
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated on Tuesday that House Democrats were discussing behind closed doors how to arrest the members of President Donald Trump’s administration who did not comply with congressional subpoenas.
“Let me tell you, this is pretty — and this is the last caucus conversation we had. Do you know this is really unprecedented? This is the worst time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” Tlaib said during a town hall meeting. “So they’re trying to figure out — no joke — they’re trying to figure out, ‘Well, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them?’ No, no.”
“What are we hoping? I mean, I’m not in those kinds of conversations, but I’m asking, like, you know, what happens? And they’re like, ‘Well, Rashida, we’re trying to figure it out ourselves because this is uncharted territory,’” she continued. “No, I’m telling you that they’re trying to be like, ‘Well, where are we going to put them? Where are we going to hold them?’ No, I mean those are the kinds of things they’re trying to tread carefully.”

Accordingly, in an escalating effort to force White House officials comply with congressional subpoenas, House Democrats have reportedly been reexamining holding those members of the administration in inherent contempt — a power that the legislature has not used since 1935.
The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) explains that inherent contempt is the oldest of three strategies that Congress can use to enforce subpoenas. According to the Washington, D.C.-based think tank:
“Since 1935, Congress has relied on the executive and judicial branches when people refuse to comply with congressional subpoenas. This practice makes sense: if Congress cannot get the information it needs on its own authority, then it can rely on the authority of the other branches of government. However, there is another option. Instead of turning to another branch, Congress can legally imprison or fine individuals who refuse to comply.”
Tlaib incorrectly suggested that the process could be enforced by the Washington, D.C. Police Department — the procedure actually only involves the chamber that is concerned. Following a contempt citation, the individual is arrested by the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms, and subsequently brought to the floor for punishment, which may include imprisonment.
