Lawyer For MAGA Hat Kids Threatens To Sue NYT For ‘Obvious Libel’; People Lining Up To Help
The mainstream media never seems to learn. The massive blowback from the egregiously malicious reporting of the agenda-driven mainstream media outlets about the context-less viral video of the teenage boys from Kentucky’s Covington Catholic High School “harassing” and “threatening” a Native American protester could include some legal headaches for some of the reporters and outlets.
Robert Barnes, a trial lawyer based in Los Angeles, issued a serious warning to the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman about her report on the Covington kids: “I will represent the kids for free if they want to sue @maggieNYT for obvious libel.”

Barnes’ warning to Haberman instantly inspired support online, including many who offered their services and financial support to help with the libel lawsuit.
“I’ll happily help work the case for free as well. Evil needs to be stopped,” wrote one supporter. “Whatever I can do in PR, I am all-in,” added another. “I think it is time to get a group together that does pro bono work PR work etc. when media slander somebody innocent. We must stop this madness,” added yet another.

“Someone set up a GoFundme page and I’ll be the first check in,” wrote another follower. “This is, without hyperbole, evil. Time for us patriots to take back the narrative from the MSM/Dem liars and present truth. Thank you to the lawyers and such offering services.”

Barnes went on to explain that “anyone who doesn’t correct and retract” the false claims could expect a libel lawsuit ā and just writing that “a more complex picture has emerged” might not protect them.
Barnes has since called out multiple leftist media outlets issuing similar libel threats and underscoring that attempts to back away from their original reports isn’t enough:
Advice to journalists: donāt compound & double down on your first set of libelous lies with more libels & lies. https://t.co/3Ge7RAnFDw

Esquire editor really, really wants to be sued for libel as he engages in mind-reading. What is instantly recognizable is the malice in the media for Trump supporters easily triggers their libelous instincts. https://t.co/Go6ukcYyEN

Hey, @kathygriffin, if someone wants to serve you a libel & invasion of privacy suit for these kids, do they send it to @LisaBloom or is she still busy helping Harvey? https://t.co/1ARBo0ElzX

This is libel, @USATODAY https://t.co/f2DMPfBtip

WaPo reporter lies & libels a bunch of kids while regurgitating the manifestly bogus narrative of the lefty protestor already caught lying about this very event. https://t.co/ws6nO2I1q0

The editor of @MotherJones (who has disgraced the publicationās investigative history in her tenure) made an art form of spreading #FakeNews dating back to when she was fronting for #FusionGPS in the #Russiagate nonsense. She deserves to be sued for continually libeling the kids. https://t.co/se5a2dmEuX
— Robert Barnes (@Barnes_Law) January 22, 2019
Many independent journalists who lean left agree the kids were falsely attacked, led by one of the best grassroots journalists in the country on these kind of issues, @Timcast. No media member who refuses to retract at this juncture has any credible defense to libeling these kids
— Robert Barnes (@Barnes_Law) January 22, 2019
Barnes also responded to a new media attempt to smear the Catholic high school by claiming they dressed in “black face” for a high school game when in fact it was just a “blackout” event.
Fake news. This is a blackout event, not people in blackface. Hence, notice how the kids entire bodies are in black paint or black clothing. I guess NYDN thought it wouldnāt be fair if they didnāt get sued too. https://t.co/iIpdCHlCkv

The left’s hatred is on full display for the whole world to see. It’s time we start disciplining the media…and let’s just be honest here. These folks are just leftist activists pretending to be journalists. That is all what these people are. They are hell-bent on destroying anyone they don’t agree with. This is sick and appalling and Enough is enough.
