Perseverance can be an awe-inspiring quality; it can inspire, exhilarate and, when it’s coming from one’s adversaries, it can unsettle and even terrify. Whatever one’s response, when those vowing your destruction pledge to keep at it, to never surrender? it’s best to keep one’s eyes open and one’s powder dry.
Further to that, over at YoungConservatives, Nick Arama relays, “Democrats lost their gambit to derail Brett Kavanaugh from becoming the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. … But still, they doubled down on the crazy, not even letting a day go by before threatening further investigations and possible impeachment if they are able to win back Congress.”
Arama quotes Fox News:
“On Saturday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced she planned to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to obtain documents related to the FBI’s supplemental probe of Kavanaugh, which senators said showed no corroboration of the decades-old sexual misconduct allegations against him. FBI background checks on judicial nominees have traditionally been kept confidential so that only senators, White House officials, and certain aides can view them.”
“ ‘In purposefully limited the FBI investigation, it is clear the Republicans were not seeking the truth,’ Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote in a statement. ‘They were seeking cover to do what they wanted to do anyway. To add insult injury, they blocked the public’s access to the report.’ ”
Arama reminds us, “Um, no, ‘they’ didn’t. Sen. Dianne Feinstein was the one who actually moved to have the report sealed. … And Congress isn’t subject to FOIA. … So no, you’re not getting it anytime soon.”
“[S]ome have convinced themselves that they’re going to be able to impeach him for ‘lying’ during his hearing and they’ve started a petition calling for his impeachment.
“One example? He said that he didn’t get into Yale Law because of legacy connections, although his grandfather went to Yale undergrad. They think that his response is somehow a lie. But Yale said his grandfather being an undergrad would not have had any influence on his admission.”
“This is how desperate they are.”
“But just like with President Donald Trump, they don’t care how much they harm the country or its institutions, Democrats refuse to accept the loss.”
Trump supporters – The fight isn’t over. You better believe that Democrats are going to do everything in their power to impeach Kavanuagh from the Supreme Court if they take control of Congress in November.
This is war. Time to fight. Vote on Nov 6 to protect the Supreme Court!

Those last six words are the key – again, both chilling and admirable: Democrats don’t quit. As Arama mentioned above, one “gambit” fails? They pivot to the next one. And then, if necessary, the next after that. And reliably, they keep pounding away at that strategy until it bears the malevolent fruit they desire.
In my home state (New Hampshire) I recall, back around 1990, our Democratic state legislators’ making a run at removing the anti-abortion laws that remained in our Granite State constitution. They had the votes, so the change passed and was submitted to our Governor, happily a Republican, but not exactly one known for his intrepid fighting spirit. Still, to the shock of many, he vetoed the bill — and there were great hurrahs in the pro-life camp and great distress among the pro-baby killing faction.
If memory serves, the Democratic caucus took another stab at the effort and failed. And then tried once more, this time succeeding. So – for the forces enthusiastic about murdering unborn human beings? Victory. Because they wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Arama: “Far-left Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), who will likely take over as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee if the Democrats take back the House, is promising to impeach Kavanaugh.”
Fox News: “ ‘The Senate having failed to do its proper constitutionally mandated job of advise and consent — we are going to have to do something to provide a check and balance, to protect the rule of law and to protect the legitimacy of one of our most important institutions,’ Nadler told The New York Times on Friday.”
‘We would have to investigate any credible allegations certainly of perjury and other things that haven’t properly been looked into before,’ the ranking Judiciary Committee Democrat said in a separate interview.
“That investigation, Democrats have said, could well lead to impeachment proceedings. Federal judges can be impeached by a simple majority of the House, but actually removing Justice Kavanaugh from the bench would then require a two-thirds vote of the Senate — an extraordinarily unlikely scenario. No sitting U.S. Supreme Court justice has ever been removed from the bench using this mechanism.”
“ ‘If we find lies about assault against women, then we should proceed to impeach,’ Luis Gutiérrez, D-Ill., said in an interview last week.”
Based on the numerous allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, including these new criminal allegations by Julie Swetnick, the @HouseJudiciary Committee must immediately start an investigation into Judge Kavanaugh to see if he should be impeached. https://t.co/IqkeZMcoXl

Arama concludes with some encouragement, “But this likelihood is firing up the GOP who was enraged with the Democrats shady tricks over Kavanaugh and Democrats in red states are likely to suffer big time for their ‘No’ votes except for Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) who voted ‘yes.’ Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MI) is now down in Missouri and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) is now down by at least ten points.”
Yes, that’s where things stand now, but don’t expect Team McCaskill and Team Heitkamp – for that matter, don’t assume Team Democrat across the board – are going to roll over and cede triumph to conservatives and the Republican Party.
As I said: they don’t buy into: “We lost.”
Just months ago, back here in New Hampshire, Republicans at the State Capital managed to stymie an effort to make it illegal for parents to procure professional counseling for their children who are facing gender confusion issues. Got that? New Hampshire laws would prohibit mom and dad from choosing therapy for their offspring trying to work through questions related to their sex.
This obscene lefty initiative was stopped in its tracks by the GOP, sound-thinking people rejoiced and went back to their day-to-day business. Not long after, via some kind of crafty legislative maneuvering, N.H. Democrats revived the effort, pressed it home — and today? If a parent brings Tommy to a professional counselor because he thinks he should be Tanya, that mother or father is officially breaking New Hampshire law.
The forces of daffiness didn’t lay down. They prevailed.
It can happen again – and will – if the good people, the decent ones, the sensible ones forget that the other side won’t ever say “We yield!”
