GOP Rep From Texas Calls On Dems To Block Tlaib Taxpayer-Funded Trip To Palestine

Published

on

Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib has been on a tear since being sworn in. She proudly wears anti-Semitism as a badge of honor. Not only has her office literally taken Israel off the map, she openly poses with Hezbollah-backing anti-Israel activist Abbas Hamideh.

This guy is an anti-Israel extremist who heads a “right of return” advocacy group. He has equated Zionism to Nazism and called Israel a “terrorist entity.” He also attended a Detroit swearing-in reception and dinner party for freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib, where he posed with her for a photograph that he tweeted last Saturday.

Tlaib’s actions are so extreme that some are now calling for actions to be taken against her.

Texas Republican Rep. Brian Babin is doing something about this. Good for him. He’s calling on every Democratic House Committee Chairman to reject any request to authorize a taxpayer-funded Congressional delegation to Palestine as put forth by Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib. That is more than appropriate considering her actions. We should not pay for a terrorist Israel-hating bashfest.

Babin wrote a letter to these chairmen and made his intentions crystal clear:

“… as a newly elected Member of Congress, Rep. Rashida Tlaib has plans to lead a taxpayer-funded Congressional delegation (CODEL) to Palestine. This action, from an outspoken supporter of the ‘BDS’ Israeli boycott movement and whose personal vitriol led her to publicly brag about calling our President a ‘mother****er’ to her young son, is both ill-conceived and inconsistent with our national values.

“Israel is of vital importance to U.S. interests in the Middle East, a fact widely acknowledged on both sides of the aisle. Since Israel’s beginnings, our nations have pursued strong relations based on common values, providing mutual security in the region and helping to spread democratic practices. The mere prospect of a CODEL like this threatens that relationship. Allowed to proceed, this action could undo years of goodwill built by the foreign policy and Israeli-American communities. To signal to our most threatened ally in the region that the United States Congress sanctions an official trip to visit Israel’s nemesis would be an exceedingly dangerous path forward.”

Babin wants these chairmen to “deny Rep. Tlaib’s request to sponsor and lead a CODEL to Palestine and exercise your authority as chair to deny your consent to any member of your committee who seeks your approval to participate in such a misadventure. Please consider the damage that a yet inexperienced and overly caustic Member of Congress may cause to Israeli relations, or the perceptions of our own Jewish-American citizens.” I could not agree more.

Tlaib is the first Palestinian-American member of Congress. After she was elected, she immediately announced a trip to the West Bank. The trip would be in lieu of the Israeli sponsored AIPAC trip offered to incoming freshmen congressmen.

“I want us to see that segregation and how that has really harmed us being able to achieve real peace in that region,” Tlaib said. “I don’t think AIPAC provides a real, fair lens into this issue. It’s one-sided. … [They] have these lavish trips to Israel, but they don’t show the side that I know is real, which is what’s happening to my grandmother and what’s happening to my family there.” And they all hate Israel and call for the Jewish country to be wiped off the map. I detect a trend.

Tlaib received notoriety when she said to a group of supporters that Democrats will “impeach that Motherf**ker,” while referring to President Trump. So, it would seem she hates Israel, President Trump, and America in general. How the heck did this woman get elected?

Tlaib and fellow Muslim congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are vocal supporters of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which urges private entities and governments to avoid business with Israel’s government due to their treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. But as usual, this is deflection. The Israelis don’t mistreat the Palestinians, it’s the other way around. It’s another excuse for hatred and Tlaib is the perfect mouthpiece for it.

VIDEO: Rashida Tlaib: Dems Discussing Arresting Trump Officials

It’s crystal clear..that the left should never ever be allowed into our government. These are dangerous folks.

Maybe Rashida should be arrested for her connections to Islamic terrorists. The fact that this woman is in our government…is despicable!

Via The Daily Wire:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated on Tuesday that House Democrats were discussing behind closed doors how to arrest the members of President Donald Trump’s administration who did not comply with congressional subpoenas.

“Let me tell you, this is pretty — and this is the last caucus conversation we had. Do you know this is really unprecedented? This is the worst time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” Tlaib said during a town hall meeting. “So they’re trying to figure out — no joke — they’re trying to figure out, ‘Well, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them?’ No, no.”

“What are we hoping? I mean, I’m not in those kinds of conversations, but I’m asking, like, you know, what happens? And they’re like, ‘Well, Rashida, we’re trying to figure it out ourselves because this is uncharted territory,’” she continued. “No, I’m telling you that they’re trying to be like, ‘Well, where are we going to put them? Where are we going to hold them?’ No, I mean those are the kinds of things they’re trying to tread carefully.”

Accordingly, in an escalating effort to force White House officials comply with congressional subpoenas, House Democrats have reportedly been reexamining holding those members of the administration in inherent contempt — a power that the legislature has not used since 1935.

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) explains that inherent contempt is the oldest of three strategies that Congress can use to enforce subpoenas. According to the Washington, D.C.-based think tank:

“Since 1935, Congress has relied on the executive and judicial branches when people refuse to comply with congressional subpoenas. This practice makes sense: if Congress cannot get the information it needs on its own authority, then it can rely on the authority of the other branches of government. However, there is another option. Instead of turning to another branch, Congress can legally imprison or fine individuals who refuse to comply.”

Tlaib incorrectly suggested that the process could be enforced by the Washington, D.C. Police Department — the procedure actually only involves the chamber that is concerned. Following a contempt citation, the individual is arrested by the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms, and subsequently brought to the floor for punishment, which may include imprisonment.
