Dem Rep Tlaib Calls For $20 An Hour Minimum Wage

Fresh off Bernie Sanders’ ‘reality bites’ segment where he unionized his staffers, then raised their pay to $15 an hour and then subsequently had to cut their hours because he could not afford to pay them… comes this hairbrained move by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who is now calling for a $20 an hour minimum wage. She put this out there during a speech at a One Fair Wage event Sunday.

Evidently, losing 1.3 million jobs over a $15 an hour minimum wage just isn’t enough… talk about math-challenged and being unable to see the consequences of your Marxist utopian blather. During an event for One Fair Wage, which is an organization that lobbies to raise the minimum wage for tipped employees, Tlaib remarked that the federal minimum wage should actually be $18 or $20 dollars rather than the traditionally touted $15. All of it is economic suicide… but hey… Marxism!

“By the way, when we started it, it should have been $15. Now I think it should be $20,” Tlaib touted trying to appear knowledgeable on something she knows less than nothing about. “It should be $20 an hour, $18 to $20 at this point,” she added, citing the increased costs of basic products like milk and eggs. Try getting rid of taxation and regulation and then they can afford milk and eggs. Just a thought.

“But I can tell you, milk has gone up, milk has gone up, the cost of everything has gone up, the cost of food has gone up, the cost of a lot of things that we need has gone up already,” she continued. Yep, and it is all a result of Democratic graft and taxation. And guess what? They want to tax you even more. It’s like getting blood out of turnip – you can only go to the ‘tax well’ so many times before it runs dry.

From Breitbart:

“A recent Congressional Budget Office report found that a $15 minimum wage would wipe out 1.3 million jobs and could cause up to 3.7 million workers to lose their jobs.

“Tlaib is not the first progressive lawmaker to call for a federally-mandated minimum wage increase. Last week, the House passed the Raise the Wage Act, which would increase the minimum wage to $15 by 2025. The act is not expected to go much further, as Republicans, who largely reject the measure on grounds of economic instability, control the Senate.

“In another step in their socialist agenda, House Democrats pushed through a bill that will force up to 3.7 million Americans to lose their jobs and wreck our economy,” Job Creators Network President and CEO Alfredo Ortiz said in a press release Thursday.

“He continued:

“There is no question that President Trump’s pro-growth policies are working, raising wages for all Americans, including those in entry-level positions. But instead of building on that progress, House Democrats want to appease the far-left and squeeze the 90 million Americans who work at or own a small business. According to JCN polling, 84 percent of Americans think it’s ‘likely’ that small businesses will have cut jobs if the minimum wage doubles.

“Instead of pursuing a $15 minimum wage, Congress should be fighting for $50,000 careers by addressing the skills gap. JCN has launched the ‘Fight for 50’ campaign to fight for careers that pay $50,000 or more. We encourage everyone to visit to learn more and join our campaign. JCN will continue to advance this campaign as part of our larger effort to promote the benefits of capitalism.

“Squad” supporter Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has long championed a $15 minimum wage, has faced scrutiny for failing to deliver on that front, with staffers complaining of his campaign paying “poverty wages.”

“A letter, addressed to Sanders’ campaign manager Faiz Shakir, states that staffers “cannot be expected to build the largest grassroots organizing program in American history while making poverty wages.”

“Given our campaign’s commitment to fighting for a living wage of at least $15.00 an hour, we believe it is only fair that the campaign would carry through this commitment to its own field team,” the letter added.”

Tlaib and Michigan Democrat Debbie Dingell (another Marxist) participated in an event called “Server for an Hour” to support the Raise the Wage Act that passed the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives last Thursday. Tlaib brought up the common counter-argument that raising the minimum wage will not actually feel like more money in the wallets of workers.

This is a communist move and you know who gets screwed in the end every time they pull this crap? That’s right… the workers. It starts out sounding all cool and civilized until you realize they will take every penny you have and give crappy versions of things such as healthcare and education to those who have not earned it. You can’t ever get ahead no matter how hard you work because of social justice. Raising the minimum wage like this will, in the end, reduce pay, not increase it.

This kind of insanity always ends in disaster. Most companies operate on very thin margins and this would guarantee millions would lose their jobs and conversely, stop paying taxes. It’s a vicious downward spiral. Communists don’t care because they place themselves above the masses where they can keep their money etc. while they enslave everyone else. If it sounds good, sell it… let the unwashed masses deal with the fallout after they are dumb enough to fall for another red trojan horse.

VIDEO: Rashida Tlaib: Dems Discussing Arresting Trump Officials

* By

It’s crystal clear..that the left should never ever be allowed into our government. These are dangerous folks.

Maybe Rashida should be arrested for her connections to Islamic terrorists. The fact that this woman is in our government…is despicable!

Via The Daily Wire:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated on Tuesday that House Democrats were discussing behind closed doors how to arrest the members of President Donald Trump’s administration who did not comply with congressional subpoenas.

“Let me tell you, this is pretty — and this is the last caucus conversation we had. Do you know this is really unprecedented? This is the worst time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” Tlaib said during a town hall meeting. “So they’re trying to figure out — no joke — they’re trying to figure out, ‘Well, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them?’ No, no.”

“What are we hoping? I mean, I’m not in those kinds of conversations, but I’m asking, like, you know, what happens? And they’re like, ‘Well, Rashida, we’re trying to figure it out ourselves because this is uncharted territory,’” she continued. “No, I’m telling you that they’re trying to be like, ‘Well, where are we going to put them? Where are we going to hold them?’ No, I mean those are the kinds of things they’re trying to tread carefully.”

Accordingly, in an escalating effort to force White House officials comply with congressional subpoenas, House Democrats have reportedly been reexamining holding those members of the administration in inherent contempt — a power that the legislature has not used since 1935.

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) explains that inherent contempt is the oldest of three strategies that Congress can use to enforce subpoenas. According to the Washington, D.C.-based think tank:

“Since 1935, Congress has relied on the executive and judicial branches when people refuse to comply with congressional subpoenas. This practice makes sense: if Congress cannot get the information it needs on its own authority, then it can rely on the authority of the other branches of government. However, there is another option. Instead of turning to another branch, Congress can legally imprison or fine individuals who refuse to comply.”

Tlaib incorrectly suggested that the process could be enforced by the Washington, D.C. Police Department — the procedure actually only involves the chamber that is concerned. Following a contempt citation, the individual is arrested by the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms, and subsequently brought to the floor for punishment, which may include imprisonment.
