Supreme Court Justices Impeached After Their $3M Liberal Scandal Is Revealed

Published

on

Who exactly presides over the impeachment trial of a state Supreme Court justice if the entire state Supreme Court is being impeached? It is an absurd constitutional conundrum that West Virginians are being forced to grapple with.

In an extraordinary and unprecedented move, the West Virginia House of Delegates voted to impeach all four state Supreme Court justices for spending issues and abuses of authority. The list of abuses is long and lengthy with allegations ranging from million dollar office renovations, personal use of state vehicles, lying, cheating, outright theft of state property, and a  laundry list that is as appalling as it is sad.

Five justices sit on the state Supreme Court in West Virginia. The state legislature has drafted articles of impeachment against Chief Justice Margaret Workman and Justices Robin Jean Davis, Beth Walker, and Allen Loughry. The court’s fifth justice, Menis Ketchum, retired in late July prior to articles of impeachment being drafted. He will plead guilty to two federal corruption charges on August 29, 2018.

The state House of Delegates voted to impeach Justice Allen Loughry on eight articles, setting the stage for a trial in the state Senate. He was placed on unpaid administrative leave in June after a state commission lodged a 32-count complaint against him, alleging pervasive violations of the state ethics code. He has since been indicted in federal court for 23 counts of fraud, witness tampering, and making false statements to investigators.

The remaining three justices — Workman, Davis, and Walker — face impeachment for wasting government resources and failing to effectively administer the state courts. All three spent large sums of taxpayer dollars on lavish improvements to their chambers in the state capital, which cumulatively totaled almost $750,000, and allegedly abused state travel resources.

Walker was the final justice to be impeached when an article was approved stating all four justices abused their authority, citing failure to control office expenses, including more than $1 million in renovations to their individual offices, as well as not maintaining policies over matters such as working lunches and the use of state vehicles and office computers at home.

Davis was impeached for $500,000 in office renovations, though Walker originally dodged impeachment when lawmakers decided to overlook her $131,000 in spending on office renovations. A short time later, another article was withdrawn against Workman, who also spent $111,000 in renovations. Workman and Davis also allegedly authorized compensation for other state judges in excess of the amounts allowed by West Virginia law.

Interestingly enough, prior to this summer’s series of events leading to the mass impeachment of the entirety of the West Virginia Supreme Court, Davis was cited in the press for potential ethics violations in unrelated matters. In March 2017 a series of contributions made to her 2012 re-election campaign strongly resemble an illegal straw donation scheme entirely conducted at the behest of an attorney, Michael Fuller of the McHugh Fuller Law Group while defending a $92 million civil judgment in the state Supreme Court. That very same attorney also purchased the Davis family private jet in December 2011. Davis then, in turn, issued a ruling in 2014 preserving a large portion of Fuller’s $92 million award, as reported by the Daily Caller.

Lawmakers also approved articles of impeachment against Loughry for spending $363,000 in renovations to his office; having some $42,000 antique desk and computers all owned by the state at his personal home; lying to the House Finance Committee about taking home the desk along with a $32,000 suede leather couch also owned by the state; and for his personal use of state vehicles. Though another impeachment article was withdrawn dealing with an accusation Loughry used state money to frame personal items at his office.

Loughry, Workman, and Davis also were impeached for their roles in allowing senior status judges to be paid higher than allowed wages. Lawmakers say the overpayments violated state law and stopped when they were challenged by the Internal Revenue Service.

What is even more appalling is these four justices worked in a state where the median household income from 2012-2017 was approximately $42,644, according to the US Census Bureau. Compared to the median US household income it ranks more than $14,000 lower than the average in the rest of the nation and West Virginia is ranked as the third poorest state in the nation as a whole. Yet these people felt it appropriate to live the high life on the backs of those that have little to start with.

Delegate John Shott stated during an August 7 judiciary committee hearing -“There appears to be, based on the evidence before us, an atmosphere that has engulfed the court of cavalier indifference to the expenditure of taxpayer funds, to the protection of taxpayer-paid assets, and an almost incomprehensible arrogance that for some reason they are not a coequal branch but a superior branch of government.”

In answer to the question of who presides over the impeachment trial when entire state Supreme Court is being impeached, the answer lies within West Virginia’s constitution. It provides that the chief justice shall preside over impeachment trials in the state Senate. However, as Chief Justice Workman herself is also subject to impeachment, she is therefore ineligible to preside, as are the rest of her colleagues.

In that vein, Workman appointed Cabell County Circuit Judge Paul Farrell to the high court on an interim basis late Friday. Farrell will serve in Loughry’s seat, pending the election of a successor in November. Farrell will also preside over impeachment proceedings in the legislature, although Walker disputes his power to do so.

Walker argued against Farrell’s installation as the presiding officer for impeachment issuing a short statement late Friday, stating – “I believe it is improper to designate any justice as acting chief justice for impeachment proceedings in which I or my colleagues may have an interest and that have not yet commenced in the Senate.”

New York Times Editor: We’re Switching From Russia Collusion To ‘Trump Is Racist’

Published

on

The New York Times and others have repeatedly tried to take down President Trump with libelous statements on the Russian collusion front and have failed spectacularly every single time. Now, New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet has accidentally admitted that for two years his far-left newspaper was “built” around spreading a hoax. Oops. But it’s never too late to shift propaganda in this political war.

He was secretly recorded saying just that and it got out. Baquet also admitted the Times’ staff is loaded with left-wingers “who cheer us when we take on Donald Trump, but they jeer at us when we take on Joe Biden.” Do tell. I’m shocked I tell you. Simply shocked.

What is actually shocking is this recording comes by way of the leftist rag, Slate. They got their mitts on the recording of a company-wide meeting Baquet held with his staffers and it is an illuminating look at how leftist media utilizes and manipulates propaganda for political effect. Why Slate would let that out is puzzling, to say the least.

Baquet has now admitted that for two long years his leftist newspaper was “built” around the Russia Collusion Hoax: “It got trickier after [inaudible] … went from being a story about whether the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and obstruction of justice to being a more head-on story about the president’s character. We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well.”

Truly well? Do you mean by lying and falsifying facts? They did that very well. There was not a shred of evidence that Trump colluded with Russia yet the NYT reported on it as fact for two years and in actuality, made stuff up to fit that narrative.

But the New York Times has seen the light, so to speak. The Russia collusion hoax hasn’t worked so now they are switching tactics… Trump is now a racist and everything will revolve around that lie: “Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story. I’d love your help with that. As Audra Burch said when I talked to her this weekend, this one is a story about what it means to be an American in 2019. It is a story that requires deep investigation into people who peddle hatred[.]”

The truth is that if Trump were actually a racist it would have come out decades ago. This is a last-ditch effort to besmirch a sitting president so a communist can take his place in the next election. It’s subversion and in my book… a form of treason.

You can still taste the salty leftist tears from being disappointed that Mueller did not take down Trump: “The day Bob Mueller walked off that witness stand, two things happened. Our readers who want Donald Trump to go away suddenly thought, “Holy shit, Bob Mueller is not going to do it.” And Donald Trump got a little emboldened politically, I think. Because, you know, for obvious reasons. And I think that the story changed. A lot of the stuff we’re talking about started to emerge like six or seven weeks ago. We’re a little tiny bit flat-footed. I mean, that’s what happens when a story looks a certain way for two years. Right?”

So, while the NYT, WaPo, and other lefty rags spewed lies and propaganda, outlets such as Breitbart, The Daily Wire, and The Daily Caller among others did real reporting and told the truth. For their efforts, a number of them have been banned on social media.

From Breitbart:

“Baquet pretty much spends the rest of the 90 minutes meeting fielding questions from individuals who are supposed to be professionals but who only want to know how they can call Trump and his supporters racists even more often.

“You see, according to the Times’ staff, everything is racist because everything really is racist.

“You probably think that whole “everything is racist” thing is me being sarcastic. Here’s a direct quote from a staffer [emphasis added]:

Hello, I have another question about racism. I’m wondering to what extent you think that the fact of racism and white supremacy being sort of the foundation of this country should play into our reporting. Just because it feels to me like it should be a starting point, you know? Like these conversations about what is racist, what isn’t racist. I just feel like racism is in everything. It should be considered in our science reporting, in our culture reporting, in our national reporting. And so, to me, it’s less about the individual instances of racism, and sort of how we’re thinking about racism and white supremacy as the foundation of all of the systems in the country.

“Good grief. What a dispiriting and not-at-all surprising look at the ignorant whack jobs in charge of our media — and in the case of the New York Times, not just the media, but what is considered the elite of the media elite. What are they obsessed with? What do these conspiracy-loons see everywhere in 2019 America…?

“Raaaaaaacism.

“Here we sit in the most tolerant, diverse country in the world just a few years after having twice elected a black president with the middle name “Hussein,” and the people in charge of the media are breaking down into pools of self-pity because they want to scream racist at us even more than they already have.

“And again, let’s not forget that the only way they can try to pretend America is racist is by way of massive hoaxes: the Very Fine People Hoax, the Covington Hoax, the George Zimmerman Is White Hoax, the Hands Up Don’t Shoot Hoax, the Jussie Smollett Hoax, and the countless hoax hate crimes they spread over and over and over again without scrutiny.”

Good grief is an understatement. The NYT does not cover real news anymore like the rising tide of anti-Semitism in this country. They are too busy protecting terrorists and radicals, while smearing the president and conservatives, to do their actual jobs.

The New York Times openly admits that anti-Jewish hate crimes don’t interest the Times because white supremacists are not behind them: “If anti-Semitism bypasses consideration as a serious problem in New York, it is to some extent because it refuses to conform to an easy narrative with a single ideological enemy. During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group, Mark Molinari, commanding officer of the police department’s Hate Crimes Task Force, told me.”

But young white males are domestic terrorists according to these people. Geez. Not communist Antifa or Black Lives Matter or the Nation of Islam or the Black Panthers… white boys are the ticket, y’all.

Since the media is out of Russian ammo and they detest Trump, they have to have another way of smearing him and throwing the race card is their final desperate move in this political dance. Nothing else has stuck to Teflon-Don. Look for them to cry ‘racism’ non-stop for the next two years in their latest contrived hoax against the president. But you won’t hear them cover actual racism because it does not fit their political narrative. It has to be Trump, Trump, Trump! or it’s not news.

The NYT is a peddler of hate. No wonder they had to stop publishing political cartoons because the editorial staff can’t recognize blatant anti-Semitism. These aren’t journalists anymore… they are Brown Shirts. They feel they’ll get away with calling Trump a racist. After all, they got away with the Russian crap for two years.

Dem Rep Sheila Lee: ‘Young Whites Drawn To Nationalism A National Security Threat’

Published

on

Oh brother. Mental stability-challenged Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee (which should scare the crap out of everyone), is now claiming that young whites are a national security threat. I kid you not and nary a whisper of racism after that uber-racist statement.

Jackson is saying that white supremacist ideology is helping fuel domestic terrorism in the United States. This is utter bull crap. Antifa and Black Lives Matter are far more guilty of this than white supremacists which a minuscule percentage of the population. I despise hate groups such as the KKK but let’s be honest, Lee’s finger-pointing here deliberately excuses leftist radicals and goes for the right (which white supremacists are not – they are actually leftists). Domestic terrorism should not be defined by race, but by group, ideology, and deed.

Acting Secretary Kevin K. McAleenan appeared in Jackson, Mississippi, for a forum about preventing violence against religious groups. And he was subjected to this insanity. The forum covered mass shootings, including the recent one that killed 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso. Notice it did not mention the one in Dayton or others… just the one that fits Lee’s political agenda.

The shooter in El Paso allegedly targeted Mexicans. But the left doesn’t want you to know everything that was in his Manifesto such as supporting universal pay and healthcare, as well as environmentalism. He was a mix of left and right and violently insane. “The attack in El Paso and the violent white supremacist ideology that inspired it offends us all,” McAleenan said Tuesday. “We must address it with moral clarity, this hate that is domestic terrorism, and it must be resisted together by Americans of all races, ethnicities, and faiths.” While you are at it though – address all domestic terrorism, not just white supremacism. Selectivism here is not our friend – it is divisive, racist, and suicidal. It was not done with Muslim terrorists and cannot be based solely on white supremacy either.

From MarketWatch:

“Others at the forum described the threat in similar terms.

“Racism is a national security threat,” said Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

“Critics of President Donald Trump contend his language has stoked racial and ethnic divisions. Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi did not name names but said “the racist, xenophobic language that we hear coming from high places” empowers people “to do crazy things.”

“Thompson and Jackson Lee also criticized raids last week in which 680 Hispanic immigrants were arrested at food processing plants in Mississippi, the largest workplace sting in the U.S. in at least a decade.

“Last week’s massive ICE raid will have an enormous long-term effect on the state of Mississippi,” Thompson said. “I do not understand why ICE picked this time, right after the country was healing from the targeted attack on Mexicans, to perform these raids in this community. ICE turned the first day of school, a special day that is to be filled with smiles and happiness, into a fearful memory for many of the children in Mississippi.”

“McAleenan told NBC on Sunday that the timing of the raids was “unfortunate,” but the action had been planned for more than a year.

“Jackson Lee said Tuesday that racists who target Hispanics or other people of color can be bolstered by the workplace raid.

“They see a brown person and they see the government rounding up and they’re saying, ‘That’s what I should be doing, but I won’t round up. I will kill,’” Jackson Lee said.

“McAleenan said that domestic terrorism, whether at houses of worship or other places, “has a broad and expansive impact on American citizens and our national climate.”

“These attacks not only end lives, they also degrade our society and diminish the integrity of our national values,” McAleenan said. “They pull at our civic seams and our diverse country and they challenge citizens’ faith in their government’s ability to protect them. Domestic terrorism jeopardizes both our physical security and our perceptions of security.”’

Jackson Lee is using this argument to villanize all white Americans and to bolster her luny call for reparations. Don’t buy into it. She’s a communist and a racist, pure and simple. Bonus… she’s nuts.

Lee declared that “racism” is “a national security threat” and urged President Trump’s administration to invest more federal funds to “get into the lives” and “minds” of young white males who are “drawn to white militia, white supremacy, white nationalism because they have nothing else to do.” So many lies, so little time for this woman.

“I believe that racism… should be declared a national security threat,” Jackson Lee said during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing. “Racism is a national security threat. Before, we would say, ‘You have a right to your racist views. You have a right to believe that slavery was right. That segregation was right.’ We live in an era where that can no longer be allowed.”

Lee also claimed she is a “huge believer in civil liberties and the Bill of Rights, and particularly the First Amendment of the Constitution.” That one made me choke on a drink and then laugh. Only for certain people, it would seem.

She said FBI statistics prove “an acceleration” of hate crimes since Trump became president and asked: “Who is the predominant actor? Young, disaffected white males… what is a major factor? Youth.” Again, not true – young black crime is far more prevalent. Show us the stats and give context while you are at it.

“We must find a way to invest huge sums of money intervening in these white minds that are drawn to white militia, white supremacy, white nationalism because they have nothing else to do — no intervention, no recreation, no libraries, no training of communities,” Jackson Lee insisted. Another corrupt way to steal from all of us one way or the other.

Jackson Lee warned that without these investments that will enable organizations, like faith-based groups, “to be able to get into the lives of these individuals,” America will wind up with more dead parishioners and more people “whose lives are turned upside down” by white supremacists like the El Paso shooter. More faith is always good and will help, but that is not what she means here, trust me.

The Texas Congresswoman said the federal government must find “real remedies” because “racism is killing us.” Racism was not killing us until Barack Obama got in office and the whacky radical leftists were allowed to run wild. The left has pushed racism and division among Americans and wants race riots in the streets… in fact, they won’t stop until that happens.
