Contestant Gave Own Shocking ‘Politically Incorrect’ Intro At Miss America, Then Lost Pageant

Published

on

In a time when people speak of raising awareness and sacrificing everything to stand up for what they believe in, some folks bring their “A” game right from the start. Many use the platform they are given for a variety of things, though many people do not often think of a beauty pageant as such a platform. Most associate it with vapid blondes talking about their wish for world peace or some other politically correct drivel such as when Miss Virginia Emili McPhail was asked what advice she would give to players about whether to stand or to continue to kneel during the national anthem in protest.

The 22-year-old went with the politically correct “safe” answer in the onstage question. McPhail said that the players have every right to kneel, replying that not standing during the anthem “is a right you have, but it’s also not about kneeling. She also said they should be acknowledged not for protesting the anthem, but for protesting police brutality. She is a graduate of Hollins University, where she studied communications.

Fox News reports “Some NFL players have said they take a knee during the playing of the anthem to protest police brutality and social injustice.

The protest has deeply divided the country, with some calling it disrespectful to the American flag and the military. President Trump has repeatedly criticized the NFL and the players over their actions.

After the competition, McPhail was asked by reporters if she was concerned that her answer would alienate those with opposing views.

“You’re entitled to your own opinion, but I stood up for what I believed was right,” McPhail said.”

Miss Michigan, aka Emily Sioma, took a different tactic. Despite not winning, Miss Michigan might be on her way to the most-viewed pageant moment ever for far more important—and even more badass—reasons.

Rather than use her introductory moment to highlight her personal achievements which is the usual custom – you know how it goes, “Hi, here’s all about me…but enough about that! Let’s talk more about ME!” – Emily chose to take the opportunity to remind the world that Flint, Michigan is STILL after FOUR years facing a water crisis.

“From the state with 84 percent of the U.S. freshwater but none for its residents to drink,” Sioma said, “I am Miss Michigan Emily Sioma.”

And cue that mic drop…

Sioma did not win the Miss America crown. That honor went to Nia Franklin or Miss New York, however, Miss Michigan, well let’s just say she stole the show during the opening interviews and put that image of vapid beauty queen to shame.

After nearly four years of an ongoing water crisis where something as vital as fresh drinking water right here in America, the lead-contaminated water pipes in Flint, Michigan are finally getting replaced. This is after a lawsuit in which the city of Flint and the state of Michigan were forced to agree via court order to fund the project replacing around 18,000 lead water lines by the year 2020. According to the settlement now filed with the courts, the state of Michigan is required to earmark $87 million for the project and to also set aside an additional $10 million for just in case.

Until all the pipes are replaced, the state will still have to deliver bottled water to residents under court settlement and ensure that homes are properly equipped with water filters as well as being properly installed. The people of Flint have dealt with a lot in the past few years.

NBC News reports “Flint’s water crisis began as a cost-cutting measure in 2014, when the city switched its water source from Detroit’s municipal service to water from the Flint River, which it treated itself. Unlike Detroit’s, the Flint system didn’t use chemicals to inhibit materials in the water that accelerate corrosion in lead and iron pipework — potentially exposing the city’s 100,000 residents to lead and other contaminants.”

Adding insult to injury after the city of Flint created the situation leading to residents’ lead exposure, the city warned 8,000 Flint homeowners that they could get slapped with tax liens if they are more than six months behind on their water accounts. Failure to pay a tax lien could eventually result in foreclosure. So basically the city of Flint said we are going to poison you and force you to pay for it. If you don’t? Well, we will just take your house.

And Sioma put all that on Front Street with just a few short words.

According to Elle Magazine – Sioma is from Grass Lake, Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan. She did not kneel, nor did she make millions in endorsement campaigns. She showed no disrespect toward any group and yet her message was loud and clear. She used her voice, raising awareness about a vital and important issue affecting people of color in America’s poorest city with an ethnic demographic that is 57% black and only 37% white. A city not even her own, yet believing her platform was one where she could be heard, she chose to speak and the world listened. World…stand up! Pay attention! THIS is what a leader looks like.

B-List Actors Alyssa Milano & Rosie O’Donnell Head Trump ‘Impeachment Task Force’

You would think this is hilarious satire..but it’s not. Has-been actors truly believe that America looks to them for political advice. I know..I can’t stop laughing.

This is how insane and delusional the left is. Remember how they told us to accept the 2008 election results and just deal with it? Here we are…and they still can’t handle that Trump is President. They stay on twitter for hours..ranting, whining and lying about the President. The left should never ever allowed in power. Let these lunatics be a reminder to you when you go to vote in 2020.

Dear Hollywood has-beens, Americans don’t give a flying crap about what you have to say. You ain’t going to impeach the President. He’s not going anywhere. For the sake of America..go away. Don’t lecture the people about politics. No one looks to you for what’s going on in our country.

Just wait until Trump wins 2020…..

Via The Daily Wire:

If you’re worried about the current state of democracy, fear not: Alyssa Milano, Rosie O’Donnell, and their rich anti-Trump friends are here to save America … by working to remove the duly elected president from office.

Feel better now?

According to a Newsweek report, a group called The Democratic Coalition has created a star-studded “Impeachment Task Force” (seriously) “seeking to hold Trump ‘accountable for his betrayal of America.’”

The task force is “designed to lead rapid response to Trump during the impeachment inquiry,” according to The Democratic Coalition co-founder and Twitter #Resistance king Scott Dworkin.

In addition to Milano and O’Donnell, the group has landed actors Ron Perlman, George Takei, Debra Messing, and Tom Arnold to use their “massive social media following to protect House Democrats in the front lines of the impeachment inquiry on Trump.”

“The task force launched a fundraising effort and basic plan on Thursday. The group has already started meeting and is set to go live with its website next week,” Newsweek reported.

Dworkin pointed to “Trump’s propaganda machine” as motivation in the creation of his elite task force.

“Trump’s propaganda machine is going to be in overdrive for the foreseeable future, so we need to be fighting every day, in every way,” he said.

“For now, impeachment is the only way to hold him accountable for his betrayal of America,” the task force’s chairman Jon Cooper added.

Dworkin is extremely optimistic that his ragtag group of celebs “will without a doubt, absolutely, overpower Trump’s propaganda machine.”

As you might recall, during the 2016 presidential election, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton had scores of celebrities come out to support her publicly — such as Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, LeBron James, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Bruce Springsteen, Robert De Niro, Lady Gaga, Jon Bon Jovi, Meryl Streep, Amy Schumer, and many, many others. As you might also recall, Hillary lost the 2016 election.

But it’s different this time. Or something.

“We’ve been one of the key groups fighting his propaganda machine for three and a half years,” Dworkin bragged. “We’ve learned a lot. And it’s kind of led us to this moment.”

In today’s highly charged political climate, it’s always nice to have something in the news that isn’t negative. Last weekend, we got some rare, good news for a change.

A sheriff’s deputy & his wife were dining at a restaurant in east-central Florida when they were approached by a young man who asked if he could pray for the officer.

The encounter left the deputy’s wife in tears, and the rest of us cheering.

The Tampa Bay Times reported:

“For all of the venom and vitriol that fill our social media feeds, there are feel-good stories, too.

A reminder came this past weekend, when the wife of a Florida deputy shared a photo on Facebook describing an encounter at a Zaxby’s restaurant in DeLand in which a young man approached her husband, Cameron, and offered to pray over him for his protection.

“Tonight was a night that I will never forget. This picture is a reminder of God’s constant love and perfect timing. Tonight we had an amazing encounter with an incredible young man named Juan. He came up to Cameron and asked is he could pray over him and his protection. After crying my eyes out we got to have an amazing conversation with this gentleman. He was on FIRE for God and you could feel His presence in the room. He said that he had felt compelled to talk to us and to pray over Cameron, Justine Tucker wrote.”

“The man, Juan O’Neal, is a student at Stetson University, according to his Facebook page.

As of Wednesday morning, the post had more than 42,000 reactions, 4,900 comments and 21,000 shares.

The post especially connected with Facebook users thirsting for positive news about people in their community.

“This is one of the main reasons why I stay connected to FB,” responded Reginald D. Alston. “There is love, kindness, compassion, respect, and general sense of caring among most people that seems to take a backseat to negativity and chaos all too often.”

“With everything that is wrong in America today, thank you for sharing this,” wrote Emily Broome Garrison. “It’s proof there’s still so much that is right!”

“People need these stories,” echoed Rachelle Bman.

Said Max Ludwig, “It’s great to wake up and see a beautiful post like this.”

“This gave me goosebumps!” wrote Monica Diaz.

Wondered Robert Cuccio, “Why are there not more stories of wonderful people like Juan?”

Tucker posted a segment from the local Fox station that covered the interaction.

WTVM9 reported of O’Neal:

“O’Neal says he never intended for the photo to go viral. In fact, he didn’t intend for a photo to be taken at all.

He says that he simply wanted to pray over Volusia County Sheriff’s Deputy Cameron Tucker.

“He grew up you know, dad is a [retired] police officer, a [retired] detective with the Columbus Police Department. So he knows some of the struggles, some of the things his dad had to go through,” said Juan’s mother Leisa O’Neal. “So for him to see another officer, he had an instant connection I’m sure, so it’s no big deal. I’m sure he was compelled to pray for him for everything that is going on in the world and the community so I think it was something he felt like he needed to do.”

“I just did what I felt like God was telling me to do,” said Juan O’Neal.

Juan is a senior at Stetson University in Florida. His mother says he is planning on commissioning into the U.S. Army in May.”

While all around us we seem to be bombarded with negativity, it’s great to see some of the next generation who haven’t forgotten what’s important in this life.

Hats off to O’Neal, and may he be successful in his endeavors.
