Oh, please let this be true! It would be a gift from heaven for the Republicans. Everyone is now talking about Joe Biden’s choice for vice president in the 2020 presidential campaign. His top political advisers reportedly are debating whether the former vice president should launch a White House bid by pledging to choose a running mate. According to Axios, that running mate could be Stacey Abrams, the 2018 Democratic gubernatorial nominee in Georgia who still hasn’t conceded that she lost.
The former minority leader in the state’s House of Representatives nearly became the nation’s first black female governor and the first Democrat to win a gubernatorial election in Georgia in two decades but lost the election. Emphasis on ‘lost’. She went on to prove that she was a sore loser and pitched a fit over that loss as well. She’s perfect for Joe Biden.
Evidently, Biden and Abrams had a cozy, private meeting earlier this month. Abrams has been considering a 2020 Senate bid, a 2022 run for governor again, or entering the 2020 presidential cattle call. The Democrats see her as a rising star. Go figure. I see her as an anchor that will sink Biden even faster than his gafftastic ways. The Dems actually had this nutball give the Democratic response to President Trump’s State of the Union address.
Biden has picked this woman for her gender, her race, and her radical leftist viewpoints. Biden’s advisors think she will add excitement to the former vice president’s campaign. And they feel that having the 45-year-old Abrams on board as a running mate could blunt concerns over the 76-year-old Biden’s age. And… it won’t work.

Fox News had a little birdie tell them that Biden will announce his campaign next month. It’s his third time at bat for the presidency and he’ll strike out this time as well. He’s discussed naming a running mate early on but has not committed to who he wants just yet. “It would certainly be something unique, something different. It would send a strong message,” said Mo Elleithee, the founding executive director of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service and a Fox News contributor. Get real… it sends a message of utter desperation.
For all the world this looks like a gimmick so that Biden will stand out from the rabid pack of Democrats vying for the Democratic presidential nomination for 2020. Many on the left see Biden as the inevitable choice in a large, weak field. I’m sure he’s concerned that he isn’t as hip as the rest of the socialists who are jockeying for the top spot. And he’s already flip-flopping all over the place to share their radical stances.
“I don’t think it’s necessary. I don’t think he should feel it’s something he has to do. At the end of the day he’ll go out there and make his own case,” explained Elleithee, a senior spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign who later served as communications director for the Democratic National Committee. “He may choose to name a running mate before the end of the primary season but I don’t he needs to feel compelled to do it on day one. I think that could actually detract a bit from a bigger message,” Elleithee added. Ya think?
“Reports of Biden naming Abrams as his out-of-the-gate vice president choice also come as Biden is reaching out to big-money donors hoping to secure contributions ahead of officially entering the race. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that the 76-year-old is concerned he may not be able to match the initial fundraising numbers of fellow 2020 candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and former Rep. Beto O’Rouke (D-TX), who raised $5.9 million and $6.1 million, respectively.”
This is Biden’s attempt to distinguish himself from the other radicals running in the race. In a sane world, this would be seen as exactly what it is… an old white guy choosing a younger black female to boost his progressive bona fides. It’s political pandering to numerous groups and it’s insulting. But the Democrats are so radicalized and over the edge, they don’t even have the sense to be offended by this. You get what you deserve and boy, do the Democrats deserve Joe Biden.
