Andrew Gillum: Register 1.4 Million Felons In Florida To Beat Trump

In case you have been wondering what failed Florida Democrat gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has been up to… it’s nothing good. He just revealed a plan to register enfranchised felons as part of a one-million voter drive in Flordia aimed at thwarting President Trump’s chances of winning the crucial swing state in the 2020 presidential election. There are so many different ways this is going to fail.

You’ll recall that Gillum got his hat handed to him in a run against conservative Florida Republican Ron DeSantis last November in a bid for the governor’s seat. So now he’s telling supporters that Democrats must engage voters ahead of the 2020 presidential primary and I guess that includes felons. “What is happening in Washington, D.C., is not normal,” he said. “We can deny Donald Trump a second term right here in the state of Florida.” No, what isn’t normal are politicians like Gillum and the Democratic Party.

Gillum is calling the voter registration drive “Bring it Home Florida,” a political action group named after his 2018 campaign slogan. “Voter registration is red flag No. 1,” Gillum stated in an interview with Politico, adding, “We’ve got over 3 million people eligible to vote, and that’s to say nothing of the 1.4 million returning citizens.”

From Breitbart:

“Florida Democrat Party Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo said voter registration is a “top priority” and that the party wants to “set our nominee up for success on day one of the general election.”

“In addition to the 4.96 million registered Democrats and 4.7 million registered Republicans in the state, according to recent data from the Florida Division of Elections, there are more than 4 million unregistered Floridians eligible to vote, according to the Florida Democratic party. More than 3 million registered voters in the state have no party affiliation.

“Although the state recently passed a constitutional amendment restoring the voting rights to 1.4 million former felons, Florida legislators advanced a bill Tuesday that could serve as another roadblock for those hoping to vote in the 2020 election. If passed, the bill would require former felons to pay outstanding court fees before they can register.

“With 29 electoral votes, Florida is considered the biggest prize among swing states. The difference between victory and defeat is often minuscule. President Trump defeated Democrat candidate Hilary Clinton in Florida by nearly 113,000 in the 2016 presidential election.

“In addition to overseeing the ambitious voter drive, Gillum will likely continue as a political commentator for CNN. The progressive joined the partisan news network in January as an ethics complaint scrutinizing his relationship with lobbyists while his was mayor was said to be moving forward. As reported by the Tampa Bay Times, state officials found probable cause on five counts that Gillum breached ethics rules by allegedly accepting gifts while traveling with lobbyists in 2016.”

Gee, I’m so not shocked that Gillum will stay on as a political agitator on CNN… a propaganda outlet that hates anything related to President Trump. Of course, the left is going after the felon vote. They embrace criminals and all things that are unethical so if felons can help them get into power, they are down with it.

Joe Gruters, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida and a state senator, was amusingly dismissive of Gillum’s new campaign. “I think he’s found a new way to earn a living,” Gruters told POLITICO before Gillum’s speech. I could not agree more.

“Listen, I encourage everyone to go register to vote,” Gruters said. “My guess is we will get Republican votes out of his efforts as well. But I think this is more about him finding a job.”

Trump’s 2020 campaign is laser-focused on Florida, the biggest swing state in the nation, with 29 of the 270 electoral college votes needed to win. Without Florida, the president’s path to re-election narrows significantly. Trump won Florida and other swing states by a small margin. Naturally, Democrats now think if they can grow the voter rolls with felons, their candidate can beat Trump. Dream on.

If a Democrat can carry Florida in 2020, he or she could win the White House by capturing just one other swing state — Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, or Pennsylvania — if the remaining states vote the way they did in 2016. But it is highly unlikely a Dem will carry Florida. In fact, Trump is in a double-digit lead over the front-runners in the Democrat race so far. I’d say America is probably going to see a second Trump term and that’s a good thing.

And as Glenn Beck has said, we had better win a Trump second term: “If the Republicans don’t win in this next election, I think we are officially at the end of the country as we know it. We may not survive even if we win, but we definitely don’t if the Republicans lose with Donald Trump.” Bingo. This next election is for all the marbles. We have to come together for America to survive this time around because if the socialists get their way, you won’t recognize this country at all.

VIDEO: Rashida Tlaib: Dems Discussing Arresting Trump Officials

* By

It’s crystal clear..that the left should never ever be allowed into our government. These are dangerous folks.

Maybe Rashida should be arrested for her connections to Islamic terrorists. The fact that this woman is in our government…is despicable!

Via The Daily Wire:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated on Tuesday that House Democrats were discussing behind closed doors how to arrest the members of President Donald Trump’s administration who did not comply with congressional subpoenas.

“Let me tell you, this is pretty — and this is the last caucus conversation we had. Do you know this is really unprecedented? This is the worst time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” Tlaib said during a town hall meeting. “So they’re trying to figure out — no joke — they’re trying to figure out, ‘Well, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them?’ No, no.”

“What are we hoping? I mean, I’m not in those kinds of conversations, but I’m asking, like, you know, what happens? And they’re like, ‘Well, Rashida, we’re trying to figure it out ourselves because this is uncharted territory,’” she continued. “No, I’m telling you that they’re trying to be like, ‘Well, where are we going to put them? Where are we going to hold them?’ No, I mean those are the kinds of things they’re trying to tread carefully.”

Accordingly, in an escalating effort to force White House officials comply with congressional subpoenas, House Democrats have reportedly been reexamining holding those members of the administration in inherent contempt — a power that the legislature has not used since 1935.

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) explains that inherent contempt is the oldest of three strategies that Congress can use to enforce subpoenas. According to the Washington, D.C.-based think tank:

“Since 1935, Congress has relied on the executive and judicial branches when people refuse to comply with congressional subpoenas. This practice makes sense: if Congress cannot get the information it needs on its own authority, then it can rely on the authority of the other branches of government. However, there is another option. Instead of turning to another branch, Congress can legally imprison or fine individuals who refuse to comply.”

Tlaib incorrectly suggested that the process could be enforced by the Washington, D.C. Police Department — the procedure actually only involves the chamber that is concerned. Following a contempt citation, the individual is arrested by the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms, and subsequently brought to the floor for punishment, which may include imprisonment.
